BMW Performance Exhaust Installed!
Following the arrival of my brown box, I had its contents installed today. I have to say, I am totally satisfied and completely happy with the end result. From the first time I started it with the new muffler I could tell the difference - it was far more obvious than I would have thought so. It is certainly a bit louder and deeper at idle with a nice tone low down. Higher range.. and the original exhaust is left to shame. The PE really is good and sounds great. It sounds more substantial while being deeper and raspier at the same time.
Thanks to cruvon for the video help. It gives an indication of how they sound, but of course nothing is better than hearing it in person... which I hope some of you will, later this month. The tips just need a slight adjustment to raise it about 1cm or so. |

Wow well done guys. Maybe Cruvon can help me do a video too after I get my car back from the mechanic.
Can you talk about the performance difference if any? |

Thanks mate! Hope you're still coming up for the drive day!

thanks! you will hear it in person soon. I did indeed. Thought of REMUS, Eisenmann, Supersprint and this OE part. Ended up going the BMW PE as it was a decent price and it was probably most like what I was after. Others I talked to about it were 100% satisfied with it and I have to say I am too. I did a lot of searching around and listening before I finally made my choice and I have no regrets. How do you find the REMUS? I'm sure I would have loved that too had I got it, but I am a bit of an OEM fan... for now anyway.. Quote:

thanks mate, you will not be disappointed. The PE is exactly what I was looking for in terms of sound/tone so I couldn't be happier. |

I was hesitant at first and did a lot of umming and ahhing. It could have so easily ended with the car sounding like it had a fart cannon and was a saturday night boy racer. The sound is very good though. I am totally happy and I don't sound like a civic/integra/rex or the like.

NIce mod. Gee... Is it just me or the stock exhaust also sounded quite nice too. I didn't know it also roar a bit too.
I was behind a 125 with BMW PE muffler on a recent cruise and it sounded great!!! Cant go wrong with BMW PE muffler dude.

Thanks! There is a way to make it sit a bit higher, but it means you need to swap some "springed bolts" to fixed bolts. It should be okay but it means you lose that little bit of felxibility and give with the exhaust as it shakes and moves around slightly. Personally, I'd rather keep that little bit of give and tolerance just to be safe. The guy who installed it is currently seeing whether he can make up some type of bracket to support the tips. The stock exhaust had a support mount at the base of the exhaust tip, where it left the muffler. The PE doesn't have this bracket and it wasn't designed so that you could transfer the bracker over either. I guess it's just meant to sit like this... |

I recommend fully. Prices are very decent. So far it has come up with EVERY oem part # I have searched. It says "out of stock" but really it means "we will order it when you do" |
