Transmission question...
Going from stock 17's which are a 45 (don't recall the width. I believe 225), to 285/30/20, does this really affect the transmission in a negative way? I'm aware of the speedometer readout error, but someone is telling me it stresses the transmission. To me it doesn't sound right. Yea, a bigger wheel and tire will add rotational mass, but so does adding passengers and/or cargo. Anyone want to chime in?

I was actually talking to a guy yesterday who owned a BMW too. He said the same thing to me since I have an XI. He said if you change the width of the tires it will screw up the all wheel drive on the car. I'm no expert in cars but that didn't make sense to me. Does anyone with XI can charm in too?
