I've just seen this post now, probably too late to get on the stand now. I'll be over at the show and shine.

Good to see some new faces today.

Well done to Mega for winning the 1/4 mile diesel category

Did my best time today, despite the strong head wind.
Although not my best 60ft and previous top speed of 111.2mph.

12.8s @ 107.4mph

Yes I was chatting to him.

He managed to blow his diff. Spinning the rear up through 450bhp odd and just ignoring the wheelspin until it went bang lol.

Same guy said he's killed 5 or 6 cars already and he only looked about 30.

Lunatic / idiot. Delete as appropriate :-)

One friend of mine beat his best mph. Wind could Not have been present all day. Dave run what 335d run anyway so not sure why yours in down. If you beat your time then wind wasn't really a factor. (unless your running more HP than last time?!)

Although Daves 104 is down 1-2mph down. His 60ft is very good at 1.9.

Wish I could have come. I'll wait for a RWYB in a month or so.

Well done to Dave and Boz.

The M3 didn't blow the diff he just broke a mount. Diff is solid on the M's. It just broke the mount and dropped a couple of inches.

My best run in the wagon was

RT, +00.206
60ft, 2.18
330ft, 6.02
1/8 ET, 9.20
1/4 ET, 14.2 @ 97.12 MPH

First run made me realise how poo my launch procedure was. Got ontop of that with little with more practice, though on the last run forgot to turn off DTC entirely which worked better for me. It had a full tank of diesel, only used what from Milton Keynes to the Pod. Could have nailed it under 14 secs with little more launch procedure practice.. anyway did better than I thought it would

Good time.

I'm a little confused how you can be 4mph(which is a lot) down but 0.2sec faster?

4mph faster would see quite a few tenths off the 12.8sec.

Is it just a JB4 you have, or further mods?

Great to see a 330d go down the strip.
You say its remapped? I think you could prob get a better time than that on another day. Someone else on here got the same time as you in a standard 330d (albeit in a LCI 330d) a while back.
But great try anyway.

Was a strong wind and I know if we push my map I could gain a little more as my map is mild but I'm not obsessed by numbers. Seems I have a pretty strong car though and the contisport 5p's are great tyres

Think the only real difference between Andy and I was better rubber he was on run flats fastest time 13.5

Fantastic result Boz, well happy for you mate.. I noticed your times at the end of the day getting quicker and quicker and it's great to see you in the 12's pal. Judging by your 60ft time, you must of pinged the launch on that run
How many runs did you do in the end..

It's quite ironic that the ones who think the wind had no affect on the results yesterday are the ones that weren't in attendance.. I can tell you now that it did, as I and just about every person I spoke to on the day that has run the strip before found the same. The terminal speeds on the day were significantly lower than normal (for everyone), but that goes hand in hand with the headwind. The wind did drop as the day went on 4pm onwards, so that may of helped some of the tail enders I suppose.
For those who did equal/improve on their best time, but had a lower terminal speed (like Boz for example), just check their 60ft time. Boz has significantly reduced his 60ft time on his best run (by 0.2-0.3) which will dramatically reduce his ET. However, his terminal speed is lower due to the wind (it will also reduce slightly due to the better launch also).
I myself got my best launch/60ft time ever in the 1er on my first run of the day. This resulted in me equalling my best ET but with a terminal speed some 4mph less than normal Just need to replicate that launch on another day with better conditions..

Mega - Nice to meet you briefly chap. Great results for the 335d on the day and well done on the trophy
I could of sworn you ran a quicker terminal speed than 104mph..? (could be wrong though )

Anyway, I echo other comments with regards the day. I had a great day out (as usual), was a really great show and met a lot of new people.

I'll double check the sheet later on. Might have gotten a faster terminal with slower 60 ft at one point.. I only looked at the slightly faster of the two 13.3s I ran. Were 4 or 5 13.4s too so worth a check.

I was indicated over 110 several times so seems I am losing 6-7mph from speedo to real timed speed... 5% off which is about right..

Running side by side with Boz was interesting as well. On the second run (where I didn't bog down !!! ) I had a clear lead off the 60, we were neck and neck by the 1000 but he just edged the run by a nose. That was a 13.5 for me so I guess a low 13 for him - not his best but not too bad.

It's all lost for me in the gear changes. Every change up just see him edge a foot or two on me.

Would love a DCT box ..

Although the extra 20 horses probably has something to do with it too

To DPF delete or not to DPF delete.. That is the question ..

But I must try not to get obsessed with numbers After all, some time soon I'll be putting a stupid subwoofer in the boot which will somewhat defeat any future desires I have for running down the strip (Unless I remove it before 'pod .. )

Was a good day in the sense that I met a few new people, and caught up with a few familar faces. As an event, I would say the show was pretty quiet, and only about half the cars of previous years. Players probably took a lot, but the show itself needs a bit of a makeover I think - it is getting a bit stale.

On the positive side, the runs on the strip looked good - and a few of us found the VIP gate open, so stood pretty much over the start line with a clear view. I got a video of Dave and Andy going up the strip too, iphone one, will upload it later on.

Anyone got any photos of the day? I took a few, but not had time to upload as yet.

Yeh I'm sure there's more in it, maybe with someone who isn't a rookie like myself high 13s should be doable. I just couldn't get the perfect launch but then looking at my 60ft times doesn't look too bad? E91s have a fat ass lol

Where there any standard 335d's or 335i's running down the strip?

On the whole, seems only the modded boys want to run the strip....

Anyone else see them putting something on the starting line, near the rear wheel area....it looked like they were spreading sand across the line......

Did not make any sense, not sure what it was, not sure what it was for either...?

singh they were spraying water before the line so people could burn out.

was actually bloody annoying as I didn't want to burn out and I had to, to get the water off my tyres...

from time to time they were also spraying glue down on the start line itself. I didn't feel this was helpful either, as it means the tyre tries to hold, loses it's bite and then really spins up quickly before catching. very hard to manage as the tyres on the car are so so much harder than what is on the ground.

I stood on the track at the endo f the day to get my trophy and after standing in one spot for about 2 mins i tried to move and could barely move my foot! Glued to the tarmac...
