Shop to clear code before taking to dealer?
I have two cylinder misfire and need to go to the dealer. But I need my jb+ codes erased first but leave the SES codes obviously. I dont want to buy a bt tool right now.
Anybody know a shop that will clear the codes or have a bt tool that I can pay to use. Thanks

lol, I just bought rims, about to buy coilovers and nearly $300 for a cable for two seconds of work is not a good idea right now. I plan to get one, but for this quick code clearing id rather go to shop. Besides the cable will takes days to get here. I need to get the car in the dealer in the next day or two.

+1 i doubt this will be the first time you'll need to use one and i dont know of anyplace local that will just clear those codes.
delay the dealer visit and get one overnight if you have too. unless someone here has one that will let you use it

Baltimore. I dont mind driving some if it saves me $300. How much is the spot? Id need it to clear codes which I could do at your house obviously, and once or twice to use it while driving to do logs sometime in the future.

I was able to find an independant BMW shop to clear the codes for $100. If I were running anything other than the Dinan sw then I would definitely invest in the BAV ...

Wow thats expensive. Id never do that. Hopefully I can share a bt tool. Or I might just buy one and then let others pay to use mine. Idk.

Dash light codes. Not the same as hidden ecu codes.

If i have pre 29.2 software, will it still store hidden/tuner codes?
I had misfire on cylinder 2 and 3 with rough idle on cold start...CEL and SES popped up. I was able to remedy the CEL by restarting the engine and cleared the SES dash light with an OBDII.

A bt tool is a cable that connects to the laptop and your car. It clears the hidden codes that the car stores when you have a tune. If you dont clear the codes bmw will void your warranty.
