Griots Garage
What's everyones take on Griots Garage products?
I've been using Zaino since getting my E90; but my neighbor swears by the Griots stuff for his 911, WRX and his wife's A4. I have to admit, they're tools/accesories look great. Plus there's a nice price advantage to be had when buying car wash/quick-detailer/etc. in bulk.

I have been using Griot's since I got my 335i in Dec and could not be any happier with his products. I have just about everything he sells for detailing a car. It is pricey on some of the stuff but it last a long time. I love the detail spray and spray on wax. His warranty is the best around.

Yea, I love the Griot's line of products as well (I've tried Zaino before too). They are real easy to work with and the results are just as good as Zaino. Also they have really great customer service, if you have any detailing questions they reply back to your emails lightning fast.

I've used various products of theirs for years, with generally good results. One recent exception would be their ultimate paint squeegee (part #82187). It doesn't move water well, has no lip, and doesn't conform to the contours of your car as well as the California Car Cover Co.'s Jelly line of squeegees. My favorite Griot's product is their micro fiber drying towel (1117) - amazing how fast and how well it dries my entire e90, and the pockets for your hands make it easier and safer to use.

I live 20 minutes from their headquarters, and use a ton of their products. Great stuff. The only few things I wouldn't recommend is their paint sealant, and their buffing pads (machine). Go to Detailed Image for that. I agree with sundance62 about the large mf drying towel. I will never use anything else again. It takes less then 5 minutes to dry my car with 2 of them. If you ever need any immediate help, call Jason, he knows his shit.

I use both products. I find personally that the Zaino polishes are much easier to remove.
I do use the Griots wash though. It seems to do a better job than the Zaino. Also the Griots MF towell really is quite nice. Their window cleaners are great to. For me it is Zaino for polishes/waxes and leather and I use Griots for everything else. SG

Thanks for all the comments.
I'm just about out of my Zaino wash; so I think I'll order some of the Griots wash. I'll probably do what most of you do, and just combine my favorite things from each. Definetely keeping the Zaino leather cleaner and conditioner.

I like to try different things. Zaino is good but there are many products just as good. I like some of Griots stuff and also like Poorboys products.

Having just spent the weekend Groitting my Wife's Z3, my '99 F150, and our '95 Jeep Wrangler I find Griot's polishes to be a bit weak; I'd like them to cut a litte better. The Z3 just had some paint work done and I wanted to polish the original panels that were not repainted. Some of the paint is not is the best condition and I used the No.1 polish (highest grit). It took several applications to get the paint improved, but it is not anywhere near perfect. The Griots stuff did remove all the dried house stain that was on the truck (don't ask), so I was happy with it there. The truck is white, so it hides a lot of blemishes anyway. The Jeep is a basket case, where the clearcoat is pimpling. It did improve the shine somewhat.
The best-in-show wax is great and lasts a long time. I use Griot's air powered orbital, which is a nice machine. |
