Yes, you typically wax after removing scratches/swirls as your scratch remover will remove any wax you have on the car.

PC is a PorterCable. They make good buffers for polishing and waxing the car. It can do what your hand does, x 1000 pretty much, but you have to be good at it or you'll do more damage than help.

By hand, I'd recommend PoorBoy's World Super Swirl Remover and PoorBoy's World Professional Polish. The SSR is more intense, while the Prof. Polish doesn't have too many abrasives in it. I've loved the results from my Prof. Polish, you can look at my garage for pics.

Good luck!

......i think your wrong portercable is fools proof you can hold it as long as you want on one spot and it won't mess up your paint. I had know clue how to use one and i didn't f@#k up my paint...

I don't really do scratches by hand anymore. If I do, I use Meguiar's Scratch-X and follow it up with the Porter Cable for fine polishing. PoorBoy's products are good, I've used them in the past.

For Swirl's I use Meguiar's professional line (DACP or something similar) or Menzerna.

Does anyone know how the scratch remover work? After reading your posts, I assume that the scratch doesn't damage the paint, right? Is there any layer or stuff on top of the paint?

Leesi, this explains it better than I could. Let us know if you have any questions:
