Rotten/foul smell after washing car.

So, every time I wash my car, I've noticed a rotten/foul smell inside the car. I have been looking all over trying to figure it out.
Today, I finally think I've found where it's coming from. I think it's coming from the driver's door. I've noticed that all of the doors have little drain plugs underneath them to let water drain out. I'm wondering if there isn't something in there rotting away causing this smell? Anyone else ever deal with this?

The only time I ever came across this sorta thing when a friend of mine had a mouse or rat that somehow got into her cars inner bodyworks and croaked. Im betting its something like that.

check in the engine compartment where the hood latches are.I had a mouse storing food in that compartment once.If it dies it would sit there and decompose.you never know.the smell would be awful.

If there's a rotten smell AFTER you have washed your car it might actually be you.

If you or someone around has a dog, let it smell around it. Most dogs will get kind of stiff and just sniff away if there is rotting flesh. Seriously.

Ok, Im not saying this is the same thing, but:

When I was gutting the interior of my 91 mustang(got it new) for auto-x, under the rear bench seat I found a plastic fork and an empty spam tin. Guess they used my car for lunchtime.

You never know what happens along the assembly line...

That's a good idea. I have two little pooches that are great at sniffing stuff.
