Should have guessed with the irish number plate it would be an early 944, pre oval dash 2.5 litre engine with 160bhp (at new, not sure now).

Wow! With a pincushion chess set you can play chess while you wait for traffic lights; or when you're stuck on the M1 at Luton.

The other available option at the time was 'ventilated' pin cushion style ones that you could play connect 4 with.

It's quite obvious that retro cars are not appreciated on here, fair enough.

I'm happy with it, thats all that matters, right?? I'm sure you can count many uglier cars out on the road.

Yes it's a 2.5, oval dash, in absolutely stunning condition, a folder full of bills that probably add up to what most of your cars are worth. Hope the E90 survives to 20-odd years old, really I do then it will look as good as the E30 looks now

Who really cares what plate it's got on, infact I've seen so many E90's with private plates on. My first Porsche I owned also had an Irish (JUI, is that an Irish one??) plate on it, should have guessed it was an early 3.0SC targa, the cheapo 911

Also loved my old '44 which was the original 2.5 too, it's a fairly decent engine, in my opinion, it's not going to set the world alight but neither is a 320d, luv.

Roger - thanks, I335 - I will make another thread with pics if you would like to see the car.

Pascha interior (the checked flag one) I rather like if it has been kept well in black or blue. This one has a pinstripe the same as my old one did, though this one is brown and the old one was black.

I don't dislike the colour at all, original colour of the time, think it looks better in real life and better when the sun is shining personally.

Nic, you say that EVERY time we take the mickey out of one of your 'retro' cars!! In all fairness, this is a forum 'designed' for owners of very modern high tech BMW's and your not going to float a lot of boats posting up pics of 20-30 yr old cars. We get turned on by 3 litre twin turbo engines, electronic gadgets and dare I say it 'driver aids', lol

If I joined an MGB forum and posted up pics of my new M3 saying, hey guys, check this out - I would expect a certain amount (OK a LOT) of negativity.

We are only having a laugh Nic, but you do kinda load the bullets and wait for us to pull the trigger

Didn't realise yours came with the optional roof mounted road sign telling everyone following to 'slow down' ??

Isn't a Porsche 944 supposed to be a sports car tho? A 320D isnt.... 2.5l with 160hp - oh how technology has moved on and improved motoring eh?
