How well do they work? Has anyone tried going air to water to get better cooling? My friend is doing that to his NSX.

There are quite a few aftermarket intercoolers. Try checking the post at the top of the forum (the "STICKY") that lists all performance mods for the car, then you can do your own research on each brand (brand web sites usually have info and dynos and you can search this forum for reviews).

I've heard good things about the Spearco. Helix is coming out with one and I know AA makes one as well, just to name a few.

like I said, look at the mods, find the names, and do a search. there are many posts already answering your questions and people here will generally not reinvent the wheel on account of the fact that you don't feel like finding the info on your own. in fact, I'm being quite polite compared to the responses you typically see when asking for info that's already out there. good luck. like a said, the mod list thread already has some links built into it, so that's a good place to start.

I have a Helix intercooler installed on my car, have for many months. Car runs great w/ it, but IMO needs a tune to maximize the added cooling capacity.

I have tried the search initially before each thread. The threads that came up were all hit or miss. Maybe I need more keywords but it didn't seem to get the info I was looking for without getting a little of everything.
