I have a musicar stage 3 fitted into an E92.

Can anyone tell me how to tune the DSP for the car. I was reading the DSP has a whole bunch of per set maps. But I'm assuming there is one for this exact car... Does anyone know?

Or are there any other audio guys you could recommend who work with DSP's as I haven't heard from musica since they sold me the system some months ago.

It should have come tuned for your car if you bought it as part of a musicar system...

Perhaps it's not connected properly then?

I assume my CIC EQ shouldn't be working? At the moment I can change freq levels through the built in EQ. Does that sound right?

I believe they use a different Helix product
than the one you have indicated in the video.
One that is a processor only .
What do you find not right about the system?
What are the exact components in your system?
He should have provided a file for your car based on what
components you ordered. If you want to tweak it then
you will need to hook it up to a PC I think . It would be hard
for me to imagine he did not give you the optimum setup for your
system.

yes, your EQ will still function. he should have pre-loaded your DSP with the file. if not, then you're at factory defaults.

So what should the factory EQ settings be so as to not interfere with the helix tune?

As for the experience, as mentioned it's worse than factory and I didn't have premium sound to start with. No mid base, the subs clip as you soon as you give it any power and it sounds way too bright almost tinny.

With the components there's no way it should sound like this. Even basic settings such as max volume aren't right so I can only assume it's not tuned.

I would give you the specs of what they gave me but the speakers were in plain boxes and obviously I can't reach them to ask them what I have.

I'll hook into the DSP with my PC to see what it can tell me.

Again if anyone knows of any other BMW audio shop that deals with this kit pls let me know. Willing to pay for service/help

Ok, so he has been in the process of moving his entire shop into a new building and has been having delays, in addition to his laptop dying. This is why it's taking so long to hear from them. He said he will try and have his installer, John, contact you tomorrow. In the meantime, if you could e-mail me your DSP setup file (download the software from the helix site, then save the file to your preferred location on your computer, and send it my way so i can have a quick look). My e-mail is ericharrington@me.com

Also, did you install this yourself? (to lazy to read the whole thread again). What came in the kit?

Thanks so much mathematics.. An installer put it in but it hasn't been configured. I'll download the software tomorrow. Should I wait for John to send me the file? If the DSP wasn't pre configured then this maybe what's missing.

I'll have to wait for john to confirm kit but it's their current stage 3 with rear speaker delete.

it would be odd that he sent you a DSP without loading the file on it. def want you to send me whatever file is on the DSP whenever you get the software installed. i'll contact Ken again tomorrow if you still never hear from John in the next few hours. hard for me to say if that will solve your problem or not. i'd really have to see the configuration. hope i can be of help. I know ken and his guys are super busy lately with the recent move to the new shop that i think was completed yesterday (except for the unboxing of all the stuff from the move).

Logged in today and was pressented with this.. would I assume it's not configured?

looks configured to me. click the "configure inputs/outputs" button and screen shot it. that'll show if the inputs and outputs are set properly. I'm guessing it is since the crossover was set, that he uses the same file for every setup he sells.

yeah, there's your problem. it's not even on basically. what's connected to the inputs on the DSP, just 2 channels? the DSP is set to do absolutely nothing.

Great to read... I can't explain how bad it sounds, figured something had to be wrong.

Are you able to do me one last fav and follow them up for that file. Still haven't heard back.
