Noise after turning the car off

Hey guys,

Last night when I got home and turned off my car (09 335i xdrive), it started making 2 loud noises. Similar to this video:

Any idea what this noise is?

Garage List
Have to say the idle speed in the vid sounds fast.

One of the sounds is probably the pressure relief valve. Most engines these days have a valve to release pressure in the crankcase/breather system on switch-off. Mine makes a kind of 'pfffstt' noise after the engine stops, when I switch off.

Just curious, did you see oil on the floor of Belly Pan when you changed your Belt?
do you know what I am getting at?

ok, if you did not see any oil, on the belly pan or floor.
exactly when the belt shredded.
then you may be fine.

but it is known that could happen the the shredded belt twists behind the main crank shaft pulley and penetrates into the crank case.
look it up.
are you the OP?

I am not. My belt shredded an car died immediately upon start up. Has been fine for about a week now after install of new tensioner and pulley

Sorry for the late reply guys. This ended up being my xdrive transfer case. My 4x4 lights came back on after a reset, brought it in to my mechanic and replaced. No more noises or codes
