Best coilover kit for under $1000
hey guys, im looking for a set of coilovers for under $1000. before u guys say add a little more and get kw's or bilsteins id like to know what other kits are out there for our cars that are also good. i just bought the car (335i coupe) and will be doing a lot of modding and dont want to blow all my money on a set of coilovers. im not tracking the car or anything, i just want the option of adjusting ride height and comfort level. im all stock at the moment.
im new here so links or pics would be appreciated if possible. thank you |

Sorry but you're really not going to find a set of coilovers for under a grand, they just don't exist. You're better off going with a set of springs and a shock/strut package if you want to stay under your $1k budget

Good coilovers and sub 1k don't mix. Been down that route and I will never do it again. If you are just looking for ride height just get some ksportt/d2/megan racing. All the same crap. Don't expect noise free. Don't expect longevity. Don't expect a wonderful ride.

ST V1's are right at 1,000 bucks and I have been running them for 20k miles and have been great for me and many other forum members. Internals are identical to KW V1's. Just without the stainless steel outer sleeves.

I just dont get how 1000$ will get you crap. Do people not understand the value of a dollar anymore?...A grand is alot of money, in any market.
I guess its just me feeling duped by the "tuning" industry, coming from my brothers S2000. I can find GREAT coilovers for around 500-800....I dont really believe for a second the whole "its a BMW it costs more to develop parts" More like "they drive a BMW lets see how far we can stick our hands down their wallets"

Here you go.
http://www.esetuning.com/FK-Automoti...-p/fkxbm30.htm Only thing is you don't have the ability to adjust dampening, not sure if that matters to you though. On a side note, I just picked up a set of used KW V2's for $860 shipped, so keep your eyes peeled in the classifieds. |

I can't speak of the other coilovers on the market, but the ST V1 coilovers are built by KW and are identical to the Variant 1 coilovers. The only difference is the shock casing. They feature the same spring rates and the same valving. |
