**Suspension setup ideas for 335i and pics??**

Hello Everyone,

I am new to this board, and I just ordered a 2011 335i m-sport le mans blue coupe 3 weeks ago. I am VERY excited to be getting it soon.

I do plan to at least do some suspension mods to it as I modded out my past car pretty heavily. It is a nissan maxima show car and I have JIC coilovers

What are the different type of suspension options for 335i's? I have ridden on full JIC coilovers, ground control coilovers and eibach springs/tokico shock, so I am open to any kind of setup.

Also if anybody has any quick pictures of their drops id appreciate it. I have been reading around the forum and checking out pics as well..

Albert

Go for the Ohlins road and track setup...One of the best, if not the best, options for the 335's

What does that consist of? Having had 4 different suspension setups in the past, I was looking for a nice clean drop with good ride quality.

The answer is simple, you get what you pay for when it comes to vehicle suspension. As such a crucial component of your vehicle, suspension is definitely something you do not want to cheap out on. KW is known for their reinforced and durable suspension components. KW's coilovers have been carefully crafted and designed by studying the flaws of competitors and improving on them. In addition KW coilovers can go lower than just about any other brand and allow you to set your car to a "slammed look", "sporty look", or anywhere in between. In the unfortunate event that anything should happen to your coilovers, KW's warranty backs all their products from manufacturer's defect.

A coilover suspension basically gives you a matched lowering spring and shock absorber combination with the added benefit of adjustable ride height and spring rates through a moveable spring perch or perches. Coilovers are to your car's advantage by reducing unsprung mass, increasing suspension travel, and allowing the car to be corner balanced. '

Here are a few pics of past customers cars lowered on KW Coilovers !

Thanks for the info.

Not to be a jerk, but like I mentioned in my original post, I have had plenty of experience with all types of suspensions including coilovers. I would "prefer" though a shock/spring combo because overtime coilovers require lots of cleaning and maintenance IF you drive the car often on regular/bumpy roads. Noises, springs binding when turning

BTW I have top of the line JIC magic on my nissan..

So whats the best spring/shock combo for the e92 that give a "sort of slammed/nicely clean lowered look"? I just want that wheel gap filled nicely I am not sure if they would even fit the 2011...I imagine since its the same frame..

If you are looking for springs, then H&R sport and race give relatively aggressive drops, where Eibach and BMW performance give a more conservative (but still nice) drop. Check out some photos and see what your personal preference is.

I will be adding just the springs. I dont have aftermarket shocks yet. but with the pro kit, form the sports package, it isnt much of a drop. I am doing it more for the handling portion, I dont care too much about a drop.

It just depends what you want out of them and what you want to pay
Best performance would be KW club sports or TC Kline
Best suspension that rides smoother would be kw street comforts or pss9/10's

I just got JIC/Cross suspension in my living room

Also you want to do m3 subframe bushings, front control arms, and front bar.

Not sure what your ideas about what the car is yet but it is a beast, especially compared to a nissian.
With $1K you could be close to 400rwhp:
1. Used jb3 pnp $400
2. Cheap dp's $250
3. Meth kit $350

or you could easily spend $2K+ on suspension

heck, for even cheaper you could be. Get a JB3 and an AFE intake... thatll give you 410 hp or so.

however, if you want warranty, get the dinan chip. but thats 2K

If you want a spring/shock combo you could try out H&R cup kits. They are a matched shock and spring kit designed to work together. However I cant comment on the ride quality as I am looking to go this route with mine.

JIC's are good coilovers IMO, id reccommend them over kw's simply because kw's are not as great as people say when it comes to quality. and do not have any adjustability compared to similarly priced coilovers. id go with a nice set of teins
