I was wondering how deep the damage went.
As swapping these panels is more involved that it first appears...

most model specific car forums i have been on seem to go through the same set of phases..

1. lots of new excited owners when car is released..
2. year or so later the used owners start to filter in, but it's still good
3. 2 years 'til the out of warranty and DIY maintenance questions start appearing
4. perhaps another couple of years for new owners of out of warranty units with ideas for cheap/shit mods pop up
5. cars start being offered for 'breaking'

i feel there could be a step i've missed between 4 and 5 perhaps, but this forums is starting really starting to feel like a transition from 3 to 4 recently..

sorry, but another in the "it will look shit" camp. Have you asked your insurance how they feel about it?

Think it would limit your resale market too.

Your a happy so and so arnt you! I always thought the point of a forum was for owners to come and share their thoughts, not be ridiculed for them. As for the above quote, to me you come across a right snob!

hah, fair play, i freely admit i am a bit of a snob.. but at the end of the day it's just an observation

i feel perfectly within my rights to ridicule people for wanting to fit quad pipes to a base model 3er, or the such like.. if that's what you want buy an M.

for a little quiz, which step in the chain i posted you reckon i fall into?
