Just Pre-Orderd: Vargas Stage II
Just pulled the trigger this morning on the Stage II's from Vargas turbo.
At first i was waiting to save up for the single from Proceed tuning, got close to ~3k in saving but my seals went out on the stock turbos Parked the car. (been close to a month and a half) I was about to buy Stock turbos to replace. but then told my self why replace shit with shit. so Looked into RB's close to buying those. then Vargas came out with the Stage II's. i was torn. Unfortunately i was too late to be a beta tester for the company. So he told me he was accepting preorders for the intro pricing. Read the entire thread on BB and i guess i was sold So called Tony this morning got everything set up and I'm 3rd in line for the Stage II turbos. --Im just hopeing for 500~550 hp...(am i crazy?) anyways i will more than likely be installing the Turbos my self an There will possibly be a DIY up in that section on how to install the turbos And as soon as the Stage II's are installed savings being again for Either Single by vishnu or Stage III twins by Vargas... Whichever has more numbers on the dyno, or price. Last edited by sammy_0559; 10-02-2012 at 11:54 AM.. |

its $1999 for the first 5 buyers, I'm 3rd so there are 2 more slots available. once all 5 are full the pricing goes up to $2499. in order to pre-order, the deposit is 50% of the intro price |

I wouldnt expect much over 500whp, and thats when pushing the turbos. Onebadmofo recently posted his 93+ Meth dyno numbers at ~470ish which seems like a very realistic number to daily drive on (17.5ish psi) You can probably do a racegas + meth glory run and hit at or over 500whp, but its really pushing it. Also when Vishnu releases its upgraded low pressure fuel pump you can probably push past the 500whp barrier on E85.

THIS. A good, realistic number for a daily driver map on a pair of TD04s is probably going to HIGH 4xxwhp. If you're expecting much higher than that than you're probably going to be let down. A balls-to-the-walls map is obviously going to yield more power but I wouldn't want to DD that. Besides, it's not about the peak numbers. Its about the area under the curve. |

I'll be honest, if these turbos can make high 400's to the wheels with some type of e85/93 mix (without meth), I will be picking up a set sometime next year. If this is not possible, then fuck it, I'll just keep saving for their stage 3.

The upgraded twins will make peak power well below 21psi of boost. Running 21+psi really only has an advantage at lower engine speeds where the engine/turbo isn't struggling with backpressure. That will result in more midrange torque but also a lot more heat and octane sensitivity. If you guys want to run big boost, you are going to have a hard time short up running a turbo that is capable of running higher pressure ratios efficiently.

I'm gonna hold out and see what the stage twos do for you I'm looking to be on the stage three list myself. Go big or go home for me.

Well if I was only expecting 470whp I wouldn't have spent $2k on turbos as that would only be a 30whp difference for me. I'm pretty confident I'll have no issues hitting 500whp and doing it without pushing the little turbos past their limit. I guess it's all speculation for now though till I put them on.

Good luck with your purchase. Hope it works out for you and that you get them in without too much more downtime.
