Center Speaker Rattle
Hello everyone,
Can someone tell me (or better yet, show me) how to remove the plastic grille on top of the center dashboard speaker? I think I have some foreign particles that are causing rattle at certain engine rpms when the interior is still cold. I searched everywhere but I could not find a DIY on how to do it. That includes the 700+ page of useless Bentley Repair manual! Thanks in advance.

Cool, thanks! I'll give it a try over the weekend and see if I can find what's causing the obnoxious rattle!

Funny.. I am experiencing the same rattle when interior is cold and the engine is heating up. Let me know what ya find. I was thinking about adding some insulation to to the plastic piece to weigh it down a bit more.

Could also be that the speaker itself is blown or on it's way out. The center speaker has been known to fail sooner than the others.

Not in my case, if I apply some pressure on the grill the noise goes away. And the rattle is present with the system turned off. A loose goose somewhere.

That's probably due to the fact that the door speakers have a tweeter run off the same channel where as the center channel doesn't have this tweeter. So some of that power is split up

I am taking the next 2 days off work and I'll take a look at the center speaker grill. If I find what's causing it, I'll be sure to take pictures and post them here. I do have some felt tape left over that I can use to pad the grill a bit.
