Australian Top Gear Presenter Try-Outs
There are a few videos appearing on YouTube from would be presenters for the SBS version of Top Gear ..... I wonder if this guy has a chance of making the cut?

A good laugh, got a bit tedious though. Might have to look at a few more of the audition vids.
I've got a sneaking suspicion that the aust. version is going to suck, as i suspect the focus will be more on the lower end cars in the local market such as holdens, fords, hsv's etc. rather than the euro / exotic focus of the original top gear. Thankfully SBS have reassured us there is no plans to ditch the UK version, with the plan to televise the UK version first with the Aust version following after it.

This guy is a little more impressive but there is a bit of a "trying too hard" feeling about his video CV. In his favour, he does drive a girls car .... which would probably fit in nicely with a poofy PC SBS view of "typically Australian". 'Spose he might come in handy though if they had a challenge to produce a car that can sort tomatoes by size!

Contestant 1 is getting my vote over the 2nd guy. The 2nd guy is like a poor attempt at putting hampster and captain slow in a blender with a good dose of fruit. Boxsters, planes, bikes, self gratification, think i'll pass.
Getting it on with a Charade, priceless.

It is getting close to submission date and they seem to be improving .... albeit somewhat contrived and overly derivative:

From what I have seen so far, this guy would get my vote (after the Charade bloke).

Q. What do you hate in the world of motoring?
A. Basically, people who think they can beat a Tarago off the lights. It's pretty lame until that gem: |
