2006 320d Remap

Hi guys, Iv had my 2006 e90 320d for around a month now and really loving it, Came from a 118d 122bhp, And the power delivery and smoothness are amazing, I had the 118d remapped by a local mobile remap guy and it made quite a difference, But thinking of remapping the 320d proper this time with a good reputation remapper with rolling road (Evolve/P-Torque) Its done 87k had new turbo at 84k and new clutch and flywheel at 86k Will this be ok? I understand the remap will take the car to around 200bhp so will be exciting for me as i have never drove a 200bhp car before, I heard people say to do oil changes a bit earlier after remap to help prelong the life of turbo etc... Anyway just looking for peoples views who has had there 320d 163 remapped with around the same milage

I'd say go for it.
I haven't done it to your specific car, but have gotten a e46 320d and e92 335d mapped ad in both cases it makes a massive difference.
Its not just the out and out bhp increase, it also makes the throttle more responsive and gives extra torque across the rev range.
As always best thing to do is t try and get a drive in a car that has already been done so you can see the difference. But if was my car I'd do it....

Thanks for the reply, Yeah as you say it will give me a lot more torque, I know this might be a daft question will it be ok remap so early after a clutch/flywheel change?

I'll let the more technically knowledgeable on the forum answer that!
I wouldn't think so, I find typically you will drive the nuts off it for a few weeks and then settle down a bit.
I guess the way I see it is if you drive any car very hard then your putting strain on the major mechanical components.
Apply a bit of mechanical sympathy and you should be fine...

I was going to say - the 2006 turbo is well known to fail in around the 60-80k mile band. Therefore if yours had NOT been done I'd say stay way away. however, as it HAS: Go for it. Go for it Seriously. Best mod you'll ever do. It totally transforms the car.

Simon from E maps is relatively local to you I guess and is who I'd recommend. If you want to come down our way (West London) then I've another suggestion, PM me if you want the details (I'd not want to offend anyone by posting it here .. )

But again. Do it !!!

I had my 2008 320d remaped by simon at emaps. It was the best £300 I could have spent on the car. The power and speed are so much better. Its more economical and 2 months on I still smile when i put my foot down.......Get it done!

You'll love it!

Do they do a proper remap? Or fit a tuning box..
