Only had about 2-3" in Kingston, SW London ... but where people are driving on the unsalted roads it has compressed the snow and that is now more ice than snow - thus my Bridgestone winter tyres wouldn't get me up the hill next to where I live I was sliding around as though they weren't snow tyres and ended up reversing back down the hill !!

We now have around 3 inches in woking. I have cleared the driveway but the snow has started again. 330i is sleeping but ready with its winters and the X3 also on winters has been providing our transport today. Side roads are very icy, but main roads are pretty clear. The winters give so much more grip and the grip under braking is almost as good as on a wet road. You can see other cars really struggling. However there is almost no one on the roads.

Good few inches in South West London.
Got stuck leaving the work car park (incline) and caused a nice long queue But once on the main roads everything was okay. |

Had about 4-5 inches in the Midlands. Nothing the car can't cope with on its winters

If you're a smoker, it could be a good opportunity.... Snow! Travelled from Telford to Cannock on the A5 and almost no traffic. More snow in Cannock, maybe 8 or 9 inches. Wintrac Extremes worked a miracle. Even overtaking the $"*ers doing less than half the speed limit when not necessary..... Would not be at home now, without winter tyres fitted.

I had to put the snow socks on my van coming home.
Midday got off the M6 at J15, chaos. Cars stuck on he A519 at Beech all over the place, buses stuck, a partially jacknifed stuck HGV too. No way I would have got home without the socks on! 40quid well spent last winter! |

North east of Glasgow, blue skies and sun all day long. Clear tonight but temperature has been zero all day long.

I nearly got caught out. Sitting on Ecclesall Road for nearly an hour and I thought 'hang on, this is settling!'. Managed to get a few hundred yards up Greystones Road and then abandoned it.

Just driven home from work in Sutton Coldfield. Now -3 but stopped snowing. Roads largely devoid of traffic. All A roads running freely.
4-6 inches of snow on quiet lanes. No problem for my winter tyres. Actually got home quicker than usual due to there being no friday night traffic around. Took the dogs for a quick walk - they just love the snow. And they stay clean which is a huge bonus. Of late weve had 2 mud monsters living with us.
