Hey everyone...

So I put my Koni FSDs and Eibach Pro Kit springs on (despite them taking a week to get here when JLEVISW website said 1 day, which was believable since i live close.. but that's another story)

Review:
Small bumps with a relatively sharp impact - WAY smoother than stock ZSP.. the shock opens up nice and soaks it up great...

Damping over larger bums with no actual impact, very very stable... good damping... I love it... way better than the boat feeling of the stock ZSP over bumps in corners...

This holds true for 1-2 people in the car.... I had 4 in it last night... 2x140lbs in the back... a 174 and a 145 in the front... ...

With the 4 people in it and this shock/spring setup... BE CAREFUL... lips in the road, pot holes.. etc... hell it sounded like I hit a wall once going over a lip/bump onto a small bridge.... To me it seems like the sharp impact opens the shock, and there just isn't enough damping and it bottoms out too easy... that is a huge drawback if you often carry more than 1 other passenger.

I'll be ok with it as 99% of the time it's just me and one other in the car... so not too bad.. but still... it is annoying..

Are the stock springs stiffer ? would it make sense to maybe throw the stock springs on instead... how would you guys out there think it would affect the ride compared to what I describe ? I assume some of the harshness might come back a little, but would maybe be able to carry more weight ?

I would imagine most suspensions dont feel as good with 4 people in he car.

what is sorta funny is the car felt a lot more stable with the stock ZSP suspension with 4 people than it did with 2...

Then the fsd/eibach feels stable with 2, and rides heavy with 4... still sticks great, but just gotta seriously watch out for bad roads

its probably you have a really agressive offset
my setup is fine even with 6 people squeezing inside....I am in NYC...never heard rubbing unless i am flying over a dip at 60mph.

not rubbing at all... but shock or suspension or something bottoms out.... i had rubbing on my old wrx wagon, i know what that sounds like.. this was way different... like the sharp bumps, the shocks open up too much, and there isn't enough dampening to not bottom out

hahah.. what do you want pictures of ?? I think i'd have a hell of a time:
- holding a camera out the window
- keeping it pointed at the wheel while hitting a sharp bump
- managing to take the picture at the exact moment the suspension bottoms out
- and not hurting me or my car in the process

BTW... my 335i Coupe is space grey with Grey Poplar as well... so you sorta know what it looks like already ;-)

the eibach springs are progressive. with a big load in the car the first soft 1/3 and possibly a part of the middle 1/3 of the spring got compressed pernamently and hitting a hole made the springs go to the 3rd "hard" 1/3, where they are really hard and hey dont recoil a lot. I can imagine that shock - well, that's a handicap of progressive springs.

I've been looking. I couldn't find ANYTHING except for ZSP springs, or TCK COs.

I've had 4 people in the car ... a lot heavier than mentioned ... and didn't experience anything like that. I've also carried about 500lbs worth of servers in the trunk without issue.

In fact the ride got noticeably smoother over everything. I did get some suspension bottoming over speed bumps though.

For what it's worth, I pulled my 19" CH's off this weekend and I've been driving around with stock 162s. The suspension doesn't keep up with the heavier 162 nearly as well. But it's been so long since I was on 162/ZHP that I don't remember what that feels like.

Either way, the day I went from CH back to 162 the ride got awful. Not harsh, just not very controlled. Ripples make the car skip around where they didn't used to. Sharp impacts make the whole car shudder, again, where they didn't on the 19" CHs.

Are you sure you purchased the correct Eibach springs? Koni does not make a kit yet with Eibach springs and Koni FSDs, however, Eibach does make a 335 specific spring for the sedan and the coupe. What was the Eibach part number you purchased?

or is koni part number 2150 4036 correct fitment for 335 e90 sedan?

I have the same setup. I dont have any problems with them but I didnt seem to get a drop with the Eibach Springs. Maybe a quarter inch or so.
Inthemiddle, what kind of drop did you see?

I bought these exact springs off inthemiddle, and yes they are the correct part listed for e90 and e92. I have them paired with Bilstein HD shocks and have no issues with bottoming out with 5 people in my car.

It is definitely the shocks which are not up to par with dampening when used with these springs. I've always recommended using FSD shocks with stock springs only after talking with inthemiddle.

There is only a small amount of lowering with these springs, which is optimal for keeping the suspension geometry somewhat in spec.

As far as I know, the 2150 kit is for the 328 and not the 335

Thats probably why you are having issues

They never made a "kit" for the 335i. The proper shocks for the 335i are the 2100 4036

You can then purchase the eibach pro-kit for the 335i coupe seperately

No kit, so I'm not sure why its listed for the e92 on the jlevi website like that, but when I purchased mine from tirerack, I received the 2100 4036, and the eibach springs seperately since their is no existing "kit" for the 335i.

That being said, I imagine that the 2150 kit has slightly different valving based on the weight difference b/w the 335i and the 328 (among other differences in the suspension)

The proper part number for a 335i coupe and sedan is the 2100

If you do a search on the Koni website, you will see that the 2100 FDS set for the 335i is only compatible with the stock height suspension. So it is probably the shock bottoming out when used with lowering springs.
