'11 328XiT tire fitment question

Hi There --

Well it's time to replace the RFT on my wife's 2011 328XiT (~20K miles). We have the factory 17" wheels (style 285) and currently square setup RFT 225/45-17.

My local tire shop has a special on Michelin Pilot RFT's with the size of 245/45-17. Will this tire size fit without rubbing?

I could go with a non-RFT but I'm not sure where to get the spare tire kit.

I would stick with the factory size. 225/45/17 is actually a very, very common size.

Why not shop around online and order a set of tires?

I put non RFTs on my E91 12 months ago. It's been a good "upgrade". If I were in the states, I would probably go with these:

I have a tow service membership in place of the spare tire kit...

If you feel the need to "plus size", you should go with a 245/40-17; 245/45-17 is too tall.

A couple of more questions...
1. What is the best RFT for all season, especially for the wet/cold
2. Can I make 245-45-17 work?
3. If I decide to go non-RFT, is there a spare tire kit you recommend?

So far the Bridgestone RE960 A/S Pole Position RFT has been getting the best feedback for all season run flat tires. I'm not sure how you can make 245/45R17 fit, nor do we carry a spare tire kit, sorry.

Doesn't appear 245/45-17 is much bigger than stock 225/45-17...only 0.709" inches in diameter. And with the Xi version, the car rides higher than the RWD?
