weird! how does this happen? you can wipe it off on the inside of the car...





how does this happen? its obviously cause of the cold (its about 5 degrees F here in Chicago) but how do the lines form??

Do you have a light tint? Maybe it has cracked/crazed.
Are you sure it's inside? Maybe it is scratches in the glass.
Can you feel the marks? Hag you tried wiping them? Windex?

If it is inside and yo can feel it but you can't wipe it off with a mild cleaner, do NOT try and scrape it with anything. You will damage the defrost elements if you do

Oh that's so neat, it looks like a sheet of continuous crystallized ice formed then cracked across various grains. Seems unlikely, though. Seems more likely they're micro-scratches that form nucleation sites for ice crystals, but then long straight runs of them would also be very surprising.

Looks like the window lamination (either factory or tint) has a few few small ridges folds, or (more likely) cracks in it that allows condensation through to form those ice crystals. Really cool.

yah i bought new and since have done npthing to the car (to save for my four series of course....) so no aftermarket tints and yes i can wipe off from inside the car
