Alarm Question- Alarm Suggestions?

Hello All! I am the owner of a 2009 BMW 328i. I was wondering as to what I should do regarding an alarm. I cannot for the life of me remember if I lock my car. Plus, it would be beneficial to me to purchase an alarm. I need suggestions as to what alarm I should install and where I should get it installed! I am located in Orlando, Florida. Thanks

A lot, specially at Fields. I know a couple of BMW techs, one of them has a shop. I'll check with him for a price quote.

I got very excited until I got to the last page. Another member quoted saying his car is not "pre-wired" for the alarm. I quickly checked my 2010 E90 and found out that the same is true in my case
So much for the excitement reading all 24 pages Bummer

*I came across the alarm through one of my friends, According to his view, We see that in the owners manual* and also its working. He cut all the wires to the horns so at least they don't go off now but the security system is still triggering and now He don't have a horn while driving. Nowhere we can find info to disable the alarm. He could set it to valet if he had a clicker.

Hi, you just have to buy alarm KIT for your car 65120403658. Then you have to code it.
Remove VO $5GA and add +K302, recode few modules: CAS, NFRM, DWAI.

If your clown nose already flashes and the car beeps when you lock it - you ALREADY have the alarm.

I think if you hold the lock or trunk release button it should activate the panic alarm, can't remember which. You can always activate it by locking the car with the windows open and wave your hand inside the car, the motion sensor should set off the alarm.

Weird. If it has the beep/blink it should be installed and activated.

On your VIN look-up does it say alarm installed or pre-wired? Are you the original owner? Maybe someone else had it installed but forgot to change the headliner cover, you need one with slots to make the alarm work:

(I have that thread queued up because I'm installing my alarm this weekend)

My car doesn't have the alarm but does have the setting to "automatically lock doors after (x) seconds" if door not opened and the "lock when driving"

I don't think the alarm locks the doors if you just walk away from the car...but not 100% sure obvioulsy
