Battery Cut-Off Switch

I did a search but didn't find anything though I may be using the wrong terminology...

I saw new cars being unloaded off the truck having just gone through shipping and awaiting final prep at the dealership. There was a cord\switch that led to the back seat and through to the trunk and the battery. There was also a sticker in the window explaining it was the swich to turn on the battery...

That's cool. I'm assuming this doesn't actually come with the car but is used for shipment to save the battery life while the car is sitting...

I was wondering if it's possible to get one of these cables for those "extended vacations" where the car isn't coming with me...

Obviously with the battery off, there will be some data that will need to be reset when re-enabled...

???

ps: No I didn't have my camera and Yes, I'm kicking myself too for not having it with me...

I'm picking up my car on monday... I was going to ask my sa\ca about storage procedures if you're leaving you car for two weeks or even a month... is it wise to unhook or switch off the battery... I may try and grab one from you... I'll pm you in a few days...
those do look like a very simple solution...

Battery tender is the way to go, at least it is for me. I sometimes don't drive my car for 4+ weeks. My tender is on a lot. It's on right now!
