USB and Bluetooth Retrofit

Hi,

Can anyone help me out here, this headunit seems a very good price. Will it simply need a USB module in the armrest for the USB to work? (Plug and play)

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2310876252...84.m1423.l2649

As for the bluetooth I know it needs to be coded but would my car require an additional module? (Its a 2007 E90 320D)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Ben

Thanks for your help makkan00, I think I will be going down the aftermarket headunit route as I need navigation.

No worries. Get ready to chop some trims and cut / splice the wires. Then blue and white font in the night will give you proper glare.
And lastly, you will find that the screen is too low for you to even look at while driving.

Not to mention the fact you'll probably devalue your car - either do it right or don't do it at all, particularly when it comes to cars like the BMW

Thanks for your input guys, I meant a double din from Pioneer instead of the Dynavin style. Is there really no good facia on the market, even if it leaves the radio below the heating controls?

I just can't justify £1200+ on a CIC retrofit as much as I want it.

If you pioneer is sitting below the climate control, how are you going to look at it when you approach funny junctions.

I guess you should listen to what IanS100 said.
With pioneer, first you invest, then you put the car back to its original state, and then try to sell pioneer to get some money back.

If you can't justify the logic of spending money on CIC retrofit, then you need to review your investment strategies.
If you go for CIC, you will use it while you have the car in OEM fashion. And when it comes to selling, thats additional point to sell your car. If you fetch £700-1000 more than same age/ mileage car without nav, your loss will be similar to what you get with pioneer.
So at the end its a matter of investing now to get it back when you sell the car. Do not forget that cars with sat nav are a lot easier to sell compared to standard radio.

If you still want to get the double din fitted, then there was a recent thread here. Have a look at it.
