ABS module question.

At the same time I got a tpms warning and ABS malfuntion the other day. As well as my hill assist and cruise cntrl is also not functioning. If reset the tpms all lights come off for about 100ft then back on.

Took the car in and it says ABS module no connection.

Is there anything else it could be or to look for? Could a speed sensor throw that off? Pump? Fuse?

This is the second thread I've checked with no answers for the ABS fault question. I'm starting to get nervous about being able to DIY the lights that just came on in my car.

Well, there have been a ton of threads on this.

Thing is, you can get two to three lights on there for various reasons and they don't all have a definitive answer because there are different chase downs with different results based on their actual problem.

Search "trifecta" to get the extreme example.

Could be part of it is as simple as a wheel speed (abs) sensor replacement...but it could be as complicated/expensive/timely as a ABS system replacement or rebuild.

Bottom line, searching is good, but pull codes and chase it from there. Post back with the codes and someone has a better idea how to help you.

Those trifecta threads have lots of solutions as well.

The usual, 5DF0 and 5DF1. I have an iCarSoft tool that I can read codes with, plus it shows realtime (sorta) data streams. Wheel sensors and steering angle sensor look like they're doing their thing. I do have suspicions about the battery condition and may go there before entering into further guesswork with the DSC/ABS. I can tell you this for certain -- the car stops like CRAP under hard braking without the system working!

Oh and joy of joys I'm getting the same codes on my Z4 Moupe. Lucky me.

Damn, straight for those codes. I would hope its one of the other weird anomalies that will cause you to replace small sensors. Did it pop up after some install in suspension/brakes? Or was it just out of the blue?

Well, I'll give you credit, you found the "tap" solution (I also dunno how well that really worked).

But worse case is the rebuild that puts you down for a few days (or buy an expensive unit).
