JB+ 75% review
I was running JB+ at default setting for a while, decided to up it to 75% today...
Changing the boost is quite simple with the JB+, although it didn't occur to me at first that you had to adjust the little arrow, and not the entire blue dial. I was turning the blue dial like an idiot without it budging, not knowing you needed a small flathead screwdriver to adjust it. Well, anyway, the car is scary fast now...there is a VERY noticeable difference from the default setting and 75% boost. The car just pulls like a madman...almost too quick for its own good sometimes. Just one question though, whenever I am getting on it pretty hard, I hear this deep throaty "pop" from my exhaust. It almost sounds like a burp....I never noticed this before but of course I never really floored it before like this either. I should also note that this is NOT the gurgle you hear from letting off the gas (I am actively pressing the gas pedal and I hear it). Is this of concern>? BTW, I have the vacuum line for the butterfly valves unplugged (also known as golf-tee mod). |

Turned mine up to 100% with the solenoid bypass. Have the UUC/Corsa Exhaust and when decelerating at certain points I can hear some popping noise from the exhaust, I don't think it is anything to worry about. Car is going on DynoJet again tomorrow so I will have some #'s to share soon.

Is the 75% setting the "3'oclock" position?

This is NOT the sound you hear when you let off the gas in say, a parking garage, and hear the crackling/gurgling noise. When I hit the gas hard I hear the exhaust "burp", it's pretty weird. |

You mean to tell me there are people out there that run JB+ on less than 100%?

3 questions about the JB+
Will it throw a code if you have a early 07 build with old software that has never been updated? Hard ECU Reset? Can a scanning tool not clear the code?

Early 07 build with the early software will most likely not throw codes. Keep in mind there is no way to guarantee any of this, and your best bet is to buy the BT tool. The BT tool will clear any code.

As far as turning up to 100% and doing the solenoid bypass, the answer to whether it is necessary is no, or that is what I was told. It just helps to increase low end torque as I think the ECU piggys' (V3 and JB3) both electronically bypass the solenoid? This is just a simple, free way to do it, the manual way. Not a necessary mod, but it is working out for me so far. Thanks.

I heard it too. Sounds like a small backfire. Mine was at 100% ever since day 1 (I think.. turning the dial clockwise to "Max".. right?).
