Brown sludge in oil catch can

Hello, so i was changing my oil yesterday and noticed brown stuff on the cap. Read online it could just be foam from not driving long distance. Then i pulled the catch can off and this light brown mud was in there. Mostly at the very bottom. Any ideas? Pics attached

Nothing to worry about. Its common for a catch can to have a water oil mixture like this.

Short trips. Did you buy chance remove the insulation under the engine cover as well?

I took the whole engine cover off. I saw no use for it. Was I wrong?

Think about it. The insulation lets the top part of the valve cover get hot enough to boil off the oil and water vapor so you dont get things like sludge on the oil cap.

As you read, looks pretty normal for short trips. Example from one of our shop car catch cans after a month or so of only being used for short trips.
