Too Much Wax?

Guys and Gals,

Do you think there is such a thing as waxing too much? I have has my E90 since 6 May 06, and have put 4 coats of Meguiars Gold Glass on her. The latest was last night. Am I overdoing it? I just Love the BLING!

I'm in the same boat with Maguairs. I put carnuba paste wax on one weekend, then #26 liquid wax the next, then I might let it go for two weeks (using QD after washing), then I start all over again.

I'm thinking about switching to either Zaino or this RejeX stuff I posted about.

You should switch to their NXT wax. I've been using Meguiar's for years and their new suff is great. Most people on here laugh when they hear Meguiars cause they all love Zanio but I don't really see a need to switch.

I took some pics after waxing my car with NXT. You can see them in the link below.

Yes, you are overwaxing. Wash it, and don't wax until the beading starts to disappear.

I know this is but let me just touch on the rejex comment...

I've tried both Zaino and RejeX and from my experience, RejeX is definitely ALOT easier to put on. From what I could tell, RejeX was able to do a better job than Zaino in repelling dust and dirt. (I noticed my car got dirty faster with Zaino than RejeX). I can't speak for it's durability though, cuz I stripped it off after 2 weeks to apply the Zaino.

BUT I think RejeX only works well with a brand new/clean car. I tried putting this stuff on my mom's Merc (brand new car too, but not kept up as well as mine), and although the results were nice, it wasn't as impressive as if I were to use Zaino Z2.

Just my 2 cents...

You aren't harming your car by waxing too much, really*. But, you are pretty much wasting wax after the second coat or so. And if you don't wait long enough for the first coat to cure (some say over night) then the second coat isn't really doing much either.

*Every time you rub a towel over the surface of your car, you risk the chance of something being on the towel causing fine scratches.
