Personally I wouldn't trust Best Buy with my car, but no, disconnecting your battery won't cause a problem. You'll lose your MPG/clock and such, but your service info will stay put.

You're braver than I am if you take it to the butchers at Best Buy. Find an installer that knows BMWs. Ask around. Ask your buddies.

You're fine, as others said, on the battery, though. No worries there.

Have you looked at people who work at BB? mostly kids.....

But if you're a little handy, you can easily install the sub and amp for yourself. Everything (stock amp, battery, etc..) are in the back. I installed mine and didn't even have to disconnect the battery.

Be safe though if you do it yourself and disconnect the battery. Likely the worst that would happen is you'd blow a fuse, but why risk anything?

MTX subs sound like crap, might as well spend some money on something decent. I don't know whats new on the market but you can find an infiniti kappa or 10w6 or similar for really cheap these days. And hell no, I Wouldn't let best buy anywhere near my car... what makes you think trusting a 16yr old making minimum wage with your vehicle is a good ideA?

Like I said before, the battery, stock amp, and remote turn on are all in the back. You just have to put them together with your amp/sub.

What I used as a remote turn on is a unused power cable for the CD changer option, which I didn't have.

as for audio cables. Read this thread.
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=138949

as for power for your amp, I just screwed the + of my amp to the battery (like other cars). didn't have to disconnect the battery. But I did this 3 yrs ago, when I didn't even know that I should to do that. As for the - , since i mount my amp upside down in the truck shelf, drill a small hole and screw in it.

The amp is a Infinity ref 1300W RMS with 2 10" kicker. It has been running great for 3 yrs and usually shut down for like 10mins if I take it for a 5+ hrs drive... but because I mounted it upside down (bad for passive convection cooling method) and I live in AZ.

I have a stock 325 w/o idrive, so it was easy. w/Idrive, I don't know.

I have one JL Audio 10 inch truck box in my e90. It hits plenty hard. Its powered by a rockford fosgate 300-1. Also installed the SWS-8's under the seats and run those off a rockford fosgate 200-2. All the sound you need really. Unless you want to rattle things.

I installed mine by myself, everything is in the trunk, I only had to run a wire in the cabin for my bass level knob. battery is right there, stock amp on opposite side where you can tap in for the signal however make sure you search the post for the wiring diamgram before you attempt this yourself or gie anyone to do it at least have the diagram available in case the installer is not familiar with BMW.
