I was asked to start a new tread on how to re-adjust your front sway bar so your vehicle will not pull to right.

I would only recommend you do this if you have had multiple alignments or multiple dealer visits to fix problem and still have a pull.

My vehicle pulled to the right so bad that it felt like my car was almost driving down road at a angle.

PERFORM THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK...NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR DAMAGE TO YOUR VEHICLE OR INJURIES!!!!

1. First drive your vehicle up on ramps I used rhino ramps don't use just a jack.

2. Removed plastic cover from under vehicle. there is multiple screws that hold it together.

3. Slide under your vehicle and locate you front sway bar then locate 2 bushing that hold sway bar in place. There are 4 bolts that hold both bushing to sway bar. Remove all of them and sway bar will fall and hang down start buy sliding both bushing 1/4 to the left.

4. re install bushing to frame torque down bolts to 18 lbs (do not over torque bolts)

5. take vehicle for a test drive and side streets then freeway....if you vehicle pulls less to the right your going the right direction. If it still pulls to the right do same as above another 1/4 of a inch and do test drive again.

please post your success story if you perform this. I know a lot of people with 3 and 5 series have this problem and I have figured out that over time bushing tending slide on sway bar over time causing vehicle to pull to one side.

I have read that centering the sway bar in the bushings will help with pull. I plan on taking a look at this as I know my alignment is well within specs. I am lowered now and love the way it handles and drives but a slight improvement would help. Thanks for the post.

You can give it a shot im not sure how it will respond with alter suspension....Anyways let me/us know how it goes. DG

Also if you decide to try this fix you may want to get a alignment after adjustment.

I feel bmw uses cheap bushings that wear out and get soft over time due to heat and causes bushing to move on sway bar causing you vehicle to pull. Your options are get aftermarket upgrade or glue bushing down so they dont slide. I believe the E46 models had some problems with this and some people glued them in place.

Also if you have RFT's get rid of them!!! I feel this are also a problem in premature wear of suspension parts.

Again do all this at your own risk!!!!

And for the people who don't agree with any of this. Remember the key words here is "I FEEL" oh and btw did i say im way happy with my car now that it doesnt pull.

This is to the OP. So the two bushings slide left to right freely? From the pic below, they don't seem like you can slide them and re-mount them:

They do slide side to side. Go under car and check it out. Good luck!!!

So, I have the car on ramps and looking under as of right now. Sway bar is dead aligned in the center with the mounts. But my car pulls really hard to right.

Should I still move it to left and try?

Can also try swapping tires side to side, checking pressures and an alignment

Can you give more details on this. I tried doing this fix but it did absolutely nothing for me. And it seemed that if I moved the bushing to the left the clamp would be disforming it when i reinstalled the bar.

ill bump this... mine pulls to the left... alignment is 100% in spec an pretty even ... on bc coils and megan rear toe arms.

car drives straight if i hold the wheel straight... the second i let go it wants to turn the wheel to the left... pretty annoying, the alignment guy thinks its a electrical steering issue but can't pin point anything for me.

winter here now but once summer comes around ill give the front sway bar trick a shot. i also have front adjustable end links... could playing with those help?

anyone else got this fix to help them with "pulling to the right"...

i've tried multiple alignmnents, new m3 control arms, sway bar bushings, end links etc, new tires and still pulls to the right...

I have a 135i and it pulls to the right. Only did an alignment and that didn't help
