I bought the walnut blaster and compressor from Harbor Freight. I made my own nozzles and use plexi glass to cover the valve. I used the Bentley manual to learn how to do it on my car and from there it is easy.

I had to remove my intake manifold today to get my failed starter out.
Do you happen to know the torque and sequence (if any) of the intake? Also, is there a trick to get the whole manifold out easily? I know this is kind of a hijack, but obviously you've pulled a bunch of intakes. Mine is a 330i. Oh, and my valves looked absolutely spotless! Just a few hundred miles away from 100k. I was pleasantly surprised!! |

The torque of the bolts for the manifold to cylinder head is 11 ft-lb. There is no special sequence. There is no way of removing easily! Two sets of hands makes it much easier. |

Here are some pics of Tuesdays intake cleaning. E90 member Cbozz's 2009 E92 with 51,000 miles. Check out how dirty some of the valves are!

if you are running distilled water / denatured alcohol or methanol injection the carbon buildup will be significantly less over the age of the car... but this is very cool none the less.

Man if only we had someone local to do it for that price, Only place that will do it here in Orlando is PSI and there price is $500plus Tax. Well worth it but if you don't have 500 you don't have it.
If you come up here to do it I'll give you the 350, Grill out any food you like and all the Beer you can drink LOL |
