Better to plan for it and not need it, than to need it and not have planned for it.

stock is the plan, yes. There are some DSC challenges I heard from another car that runs in our series, so custom software from Epic will help that..(crossing fingers)

What, the limp mode and brake fade compensation?

It just adds some brake in the middle of the corner when you aren't touching the pedal. Epic worked on it and I believe they resolved most of it, but not all. No limp mode.

Btw, where did you order your SS headers? i just got a quote which I believe it is a little higher.

Shrug, I was going to say, I found how to turn off brake fade limp mode, brake fade hiding, and turn on a LSD the other day in coding.

I didn't even know about the brake fade limp mode.... What are you coding with?

NCS Expert?

When the car thinks that the brakes have faded, it goes into limp mode. Prior to that, it compensates for fade by applying more pressure for you. The latter is especially scary.

We run BMWCCA and SCCA events with the current 335 (see below).

Did I see you at the BMWCCA event at NJMP on June 2 & 3?
I stopped by and spoke to someone that had an e36 that was TC Kline car and I commented how much I liked it. I also mentioned that we are running a TC Kline suspension on the Z4.

Ha! No I wasn't at that event, that was probably a sister car, probably talked to Wayne. But I do remember you from the endurance series races. First time I was amazed the sound that 335 made. It wasn't necessarily bad but very very different !

We might have talked at MidO weekend. I live 30miles from the track and doesn't miss a race weekend there.

We should talk, may be I can pick your brain furter on this N52 thing.

Yeah, the 335 does sound a bit funny. Right now it's straight pipes with no muffler. Also, in the endurance races, we short shift the car big time to help with fuel mileage (4,000 - 5,000rpm). I still ran a 1:40 at MidO. We wanted to make it with only two pit stops due to the mandatory 5 minute rule when fueling the car for "safety." We don't like that rule at all. We're used to no pit time limit (get in and out ASAP) so we are sitting in the car for two or three minutes waiting for the 5 minutes to elapse. Our fueling for 15 gallons is about 45 seconds.

We came in 5th overall at the 12 hour Devil in the Dark at NJMP this year. We started 49th (last) since we didn't qualify.

We may run at Watkins Glen in October in the SCCA 4 hour race.

Sorry it's so late. You really want to talk to these guys about tuning the N52

I certainly hate the 5min pitstop rule as well. That's actually the sole reason I am not running endurance series with BMW. I had a brief exchange with the rmp folks nothing too serious.
