i would like to know if this bmw port cable is ok to buy it also comes with the software for faults and reseting

Not sure about that cable - actually just bought one myself, but after reading the ad description in eBay a bit better, it seems it might only be for bmw's without the newer D-can OBD interface (before 07 I think)

Not entirely sure though, I've only had my BMW for 6 months and it usually takes me a year to have a good understanding of most of the info when I get a new car.

The known and well used part is from Bavarian Technic.

I use one, as do many others. Will do everything you need.
