I'm not saying these are cheap downpipes that are made from China. I'm saying show us the quality of the downpipes via pictures and/or video when you receive the product. Show us the quality of the fitment on your car via pictures and/or video. Show us the quality of the gain it produces on the dyno via pictures and/or video. That's not so much to ask, is it?

I vote everyone move on and get back on topic. So, OP, when do you expect to get them? I'm sure everyone will want to see pics of the welds.

You get what you pay for. Until more of these are installed on a vehicle, we all still know who makes the best set. I have seen many many threads of people stating that Raceland DP's were quality pipes for a cheap price but ended up switching to AR pipes. I remember BB fabrication which was a replica of AR. What happened to them? Only time will tell. Good luck to this company.

Just seems strange that he doesn't have any pics of it on the car. In R&D the progression of a product is usually recorded meticulously. Either way I hope that the new DP's perform well as I am on the market for a set!

To be fair to Andrew he is very passionate about his work and has invested a lot of time to better his products. I will not judge these pipes as it would not be fair to do so by a simple picture, but I have to say that when I first saw the thread I though these were a new version of ar dowpipes by just looking at the picture. Thats how strikingly similar the design, flanges, o2 bungs are.
Will be interested to see how the fitment, and inner surface of these pipes are. (can you post more pics) Like I have said in many previous threads, the more products the better as competition drives innovation and the community benefits as a whole. Mike |

There must be tons of xi's in Massachusetts, try and get one in and make some DP's for us!

There are a few up here, but the market for Xi's are still pretty limited in comparison to the RWD so it hasn't been on the top of our to do list, but we do have plans for them in the near future.

Hey guys, don't ever post here mostly cruise around reading people reviews and such. so I figured I would add my 2 cents as I have these downpipes on my car. These things are beautiful in person, its to bad they are under the car. def solid downpipes with quality welds. im guessing it took me about 4 hrs to install in my driveway (first timer), def would be faster at it now. This mod along with my procede made an enormous difference its like a whole new car, thing is a beast. I can vouch for the quality and though I haven't been on a dyno yet the improvement over just having the procede was well worth it.

I can vouch for Tiago having bought some stuff from him in the past. Although I have AR DPs, these look like a quality alternative to the other pipes on the market. It's unfortunate that other vendors feel threatened.

In my opinion ar invited this competition by pricing themselves out of the heart of the target market, $800 is just much too expensive for a set of downpipes for most people, simple as that.
Ar wants to cry copycat? that's the price they pay for being first to market. That pill would be easier to swallow if they were even remotely competitive and not losing sales to "lesser" products strictly because of price-tags. You know when consumers are willing to WASTE $200 on pipes they know are garbage, and the same consumers aren't willing to INVEST $800 on what is known far and wide to be the benchmark, your prices are waaaaay off. Maybe you should have priced your product better and made it harder for people to undercut you (which you cant do now without infuriating your existing customer base) rather than attempting to belittle your competition to your target market. lol, bad form. At twice the price of these new offerings, are ar's really twice the product? Is it more realistic to think that given the same profit %, the cost of materials and production are double with the ar pipes? Or maybe its the classic bmw tax...maybe a bit of both, who knows. What I do know is that with a gap of ~$500 in the downpipe market, someone was bound to find that middle ground eventually because ar left too much on the table. And whoever gets there with a quality product and some respectable #s is only a few positive customer reviews away from taking the biggest piece of the pie. good for you guys, good for us.
