A vehicle entered on the WOVR as a repairable write-off cannot be re-registered nor have its registration maintained unless a current Vehicle Identity Validation (VIV) certificate is submitted to VicRoads. Exemptions may apply for vehicles damaged in the 25 December 2011 hail storm.

VicRoads may accept an interstate written-off vehicle inspection, however it reserves the right to require a vehicle entered on the WOVR (including specific interstate vehicles classified as inspected write-offs) to undergo the VIV inspection to ensure that the vehicle is correctly identified and repaired appropriately. To find out whether a vehicle is required to undergo the VIV inspection, please contact VicRoads on 13 11 71.

some dirty Victorian term

Any idea if the OP went ahead and bought the 325i in the end? I'm in the market for an E92 right now and am thinking about starting a thread but thought it would be a good idea to do a search beforehand.

Haha yeah reading these forums it does become tempting! Price is the factor really and I'm kinda uncomfortable with going with high kays as I'm not very car literate and am generally risk averse. I think I might just have to organise a test drive of both a 325i and a 335i...although maybe in this case ignorance is bliss haha?

335 is the way to go for sure. Having said that when I was looking at my 335, in general high Ks are well taken care of compared to low Ks. Sadly the Ks does not reflect on the condition of the car most of the time. Yes you can get the odd garage queen but generally genuine high Ks are not a problem.especially when the owner takes car of the car.

I've got a fren who have a 100k car that the condition of the driver's leather seat is better than another friend's 30k car.

I bought a 325i... went with a 135i 9 months later.

Go for the 335i.

They have few issues, and then those can be fixed easily.
If you want a car checked out before hand go visit Andrew at Southern BM, Moorabbin for an inspection or Jin at Active Motorwerke, Burwood.

Haha no surprise that BMW enthusiasts are encouraging me to get the more powerful car! I'm a young man so not getting a 335i now will leave me with something to look forward to in the future, at least that's the lie I'll tell myself!

Stuart - thanks for the recs, called each up today and had a chat. Jin encouraged me to get the 335i as well haha.

I hope it's alright if I start my own thread instead of hijacking this one, I've got a few questions .
