330D - Smoke from exhaust after idling for a while
I have a 330d on 130k mileage which I picked up not too long ago
Needs dpf removing which I'm looking to do soon (because of low coolant temps) it's stage 2 blocked and I've tried everything to regenerate I've changed the egr thermostat a week ago but this issue started prior, main thermostat is planned in next few weeks Prior to egr change, on a motorway run it would struggle to stay above 75 at 80mph however when parked and idling for 10 15 mins coolant rises to high 90s and stays there but I get some whiteishh smoke from the exhaust, is this normal in the sense that could the dpf be clearing out passively with such a high temp? cheers

That can sometimes just be cheap fuel. Mine smokes like a chimney if I fill up at Tesco, but I can rev the nuts off it with little or no smoke if I use premium branded fuel. I had to put Sainsburys fuel in the other day and guess what...

Keep an eye on your oil level (make sure it isnt rising), whitish smoke normally means burning Coolant The EGR coolers can leak and coolant finds its way into the cylinders, there have been issues of this happening with EGR bypass mod i believe. Something to do with the EGR cooler cracking due to temperature differences.
