Oil Reset Info

Previously when my car was under the 5 year warranty BMW performed the oil and filter change, when i checked the data for the next oil change it stated 2 years. I changed the oil and filter alone after one year but never mentioned nothing.

After i changed the oil this week i performed the re-set and the new period is only 1 year or 14.000km. Is it normal when you use the following method it only performs a one year period.

1. Put key fob in and press "Start" once (do not start the engine).
2. With foot on the brake pedal, hold odometer reset until yellow triangle comes up.
3. Use scroll wheel on turn indicator to find an icon that you want to reset service for.
4. Press the button and a reset light will come on.
5. Press again and hold it for few seconds.
