Hi, I want to play my spotify again

08 e92 Idrive has the cable and usb port. This does not have a Media option just aux so not streaming. I can play my Iphone 5c with a Monster 1/4 audio stereo cable just fine , not the USB. When I hook up my Iphone 7 or 8 both devices play the music but have a hissing sound in the background using the cable and nothing on the USB as usual.

Went to apple told me to change the cable, don't think that will help, they have no other solution. Looked around found Viseeo tune2air but do not think that is what I need but it may be. Don't forget I 8 phone.

Anybody know if that works or if there is a way to upgrade my idrive for streaming internally or with a external device.

Need a simple solution if possible , but not changing head unit, thanks to all, Tom

Yep. Install a combox assuming you have a cic

Thanks for the quick response , that looks like a very expensive option over 500 all in, was hope for something under 100. If that is not happening I will just stick with the 5 for music. I hate technology.

tune2air should help if usb is in armrest
or using Y-cable will be possible to play over usb and aux combination

Actually i bought the combox + harness for under 150 used. Installation took less than an hour. it's pretty simple.
