That's been asked and answered (more than once). Search this thread but the short answer is yes it can.

This would be like the Sophisticated/Refined Businessman's Supra. I can't wait to be one of the firsts with a 900whp 335i! As to the gentleman that stated most 335i owners wouldn't go past bolt-ons and a flash upgrade, what about the E36 M3s making over 1000whp with the i6 motor(no V8 swaps here), and the E46 M3s making nearly the same? Although we might speculate that most 335i owners wouldn't want to go this route, there IS definitely a market for it(probably a very small market for it though).

I will get my 335i in March. Do you think your kit will be ready by then? and can i install it myself, and get my local rolling road to optimise it, or will it work fine right out of the box? I really like the way you got rid of the power drop off at the top end there is nothing worse. Great work and keep on posting your progress! My plan is to combine engine upgrades with a change of diff ratio/lsd, i can live with the higher revs, and it will be ballistic. goodby E46M3

I am not saying there is not a market, I am just saying that most would not want it do to the sacrifice it takes in part of the owner i.e. boat loads of money, loss of driveability, maintenance etc...

Again, MOST 335 owners will not be willing to take their car to that level. Comparing the E36 M3 aftermarket to the 335 aftermarket does not really work. A 1000whp E36 M3 is not your standard daily driver by any means and I bet most people who own one (a 1000whp one) did not purchase it to drive it everyday. Most buyers today are looking at the 335 as their daily driver. 900whp is pushing it as far as what you can drive on a daily basis.

Don't get me wrong though, I would *love* to see a 900 whp 335, and I think everyone else would to.

there is no doubt that someone will build such a car. there are a lot of tuners out there looking for new stuff to do, and the interrest created by this new car is more than usual. Tuners will want to get on this bandwaggon and demonstrate their abilities to the extreme, if someone can bulid a 900HP 335i and can demonstrate that it works, they are likley to do a prety good job of a 400 or 500HP conversion, which the majority of modifying owners will be looking for. I don't know how well the alloy block will stand up to that sort of power level tho... I think you will find that any 900HP engine shares no components whatsoever with the production unit

poldim - amen to that!

BenMW - i just noticed your sig about the engine in your 335i blowing. by chance is it the same problem that bmw had with the M3(something about the main bearings being machined too thin and thus causing cars to spin/stack bearings)?

The Stg 0 kit (Xede only) should be ready for shipping as early as 2 weeks from now. The Stg 1 kit (Xede and Exhaust) probably Jan or Feb. For those who have to have the full Stg 1 kit now, we do offer it as a turn key job. Which means you have to drive to us and leave your car with us for 2 days. The kits are designed to be installed by the end-user. It is not a difficult job by any means. No need for rolling road custom tuning unless you want to extract the last 5-10hp. The pre-loaded baseline maps should be really close to ideal.

Cheers,
shiv

This is great news to all! 2 questions though that i have been wondering for a while now... 1- is a 2.5" exhaust the optimal for our 335i, since i live in miami, i have access to ,miami muffler where i can get a 3" mandrel bend one made...should i do it? or stick with the 2.5?
2- would it be possible to run your xede software along with a boost controller? i still have my profec b from my previous turbo project would it function properly with the vinshu software. the reason that i ask is that i unfortunately was blessed with a lead foot...
thus i loved the fact that i could drive around in low boost all day long and then of coarse switch to high boost only when needed... resulting in much gas saved for me (driving at lower boost during daily tasks) and slowing down my "its not fast enough anymore...i need it faster" craving by upping it to high boost again so i can say..."oh yeaaaa, never mind " thanks for all of your help shiv, like i said long before in take 1, ur tooning is one of the main reasons i got my 335i...

Iam having a very very hard time deciding on a MT vs auto. I have been driving stick since 96 and auto is sounding a bit better. I am always in my car 24/7 due to my business. I wonder how responsive the auto/paddle shifters are in the 335i. Has anyone driven an auto in tiptronic?

the steptronic automatic transmission is very good in the 335, it's the fastest automatic i have ever driven. (DSG is not an automatic )

my reason for not taking it was that i don't like the configuration of the paddles on the steering wheel. both left and right paddles operate the same way:
pull=upshift and push=downshift

i would have taken it if it were like the SMG

I really liked the Steptronic as well. By far, the best auto i've driven and perfectly liveable. I was torn as well. The right part of my brain talked me into getting a 6MT. The left side put up a good fight though

You can't really be serious with that statement, can you? I get my 335 coupe in January, but while I'm waiting for that, I drive a 95 Supra single turbo. The Supras engine is bulletproof in that its made of cast iron, heavy as hell and does not have to be rebuilt for power up to or around 900hp. Theres really never been an engine like that when it came out.The 335's engine is nowhere near as strong as that.

As far as I know, and there are some more I'm sure, the Supra and Skylines are the only few that dont need to be rebuilt. Just bolt on, electronics, tranny upgrade, tune, and go. You're gonna spend a crap load to get a BMW up to those power levels.

Realistically, I'm guessing the E92 could make around 425-450bhp. Then you're probably going to have problems any higher than that.

the paddles on the 335 were akward at first being used to an SMG, but now I like the design BETTER. you don't have to search for the proper hand to upshift downshift.

If you are pondering spending the 4-5 thousand dollars on this product, spend the couple of hours and read the thread. Or, just search in this thread like I already suggested.
