Awesome I'm stoked... Do we have a price range? Also the last chop u did is that the final design that were going after? It might be best to start another thread getting a list started with the picture and price range.

Which idea? The diffuser idea? Certainly not...

I've got the bumper and have dropped if off at the moulder - he's taking a casting from the bumper itself and will be working on the modifications as soon as he's completed the m-tech one this Friday (03/18)...

Sorry that I haven't given an update - been a bit busy these past couple days...

I think the last pic is pretty much the final design to go for unless there are any last minute suggestions that are really cool...

I will probably start a new thread in the vendor section soon (and link to it here) as soon as the mtech one is completed.

We fitted it today for the first time to sort out the mould for fitment issues and alignment etc. All changes to the mould should be done within the next week. As soon as it's ready to sell, I will sign up as a vendor on the forum (look for me under AKConcepts) and post up a thread for the both the mtech diffuser and this one.

Will try stay in touch often...

You and virtually everyone else who's replied

Like I said above it'll be in development soon... I can't wait for it either!

So, the question is:

From a design perspective, if I look at this one above (painted or not), it does highlight the fact that there is a recess in the stock bumper.

I can do one of two things with the deisgn -

1. Follow the curvature - but this means that I can't go too high without it looking too silly

2. Pull the design out of the recess a bit so that it has more of a vertical profile i.e. from top to bottom follows a straight-ish line, rather than the curvature of the bumper

My gut feel is to go with option 1, follow the curvature to the middle of the recess i.e. before it starts curving back up towards the back of the car. Seeing as though I'm building this for you guys though - please let me know what you think.

Also - I took a look at the last photo on the original post again and I quite like the lip that it has at the bottom - what do you guys think of that?

Looking forward to reading your comments...

Yes I agree follow the curvature of the bumper and follow the line on the side of the bumper. I also like the last pic on the op with the lip on the bottom. So when this starts are you going to run the dual quads non 335 first then the single quads after? Just clarifying. Can't wait for this and the price.

Ok cool - I think I'm going to do the lip at the bottom instead of anything like the open slit across the whole diffuser idea. As for the lineup - I'm going to try get both the non 335 single side opening and non 335 dual side opening going at the same time. We've decided to split the mould into 3 pieces (same as we have done for the 335 version) so that we can just piece together the correct combination of pieces to produce any one item. So even if I do have the non 335 single side opening done first, the quad set up will follow within a week or two from then. Will keep you posted as to the progress...

As far as the design goes I want to incorporate the same lip around the exhaust opening for this one as I have done for the 335 one, but I'm not so sure on the fins. The problem really is the shape of the standard bumper. I was originally thinking of making the diffuser stand out about an inch from the car and then incorporating fins into the design but there wasn't a resounding amount of interest from people here on this thread, so let's try once more

Who's up for fins on this diffuser?

The picture in post 93 is my car and is a photoshop.

I would like to get fins on the diffuser to add a little character to it.. followed with the uprise around the exhaust. I specifically have the cyba quad exhaust. So Id like the diffuser to fit that. (Which it fits the oem bumper anyways.)

Klove83, can you redo your photo shopped picture? Bring the top black edge down to the line of the recess and bring in the left and right edge to the end of the recess line? I like your job but just thinking of a slight fine tune.
Maybe also do one that just has the single left side outlets (blank out the right outlets) for us single exhaust guys.
Thanks.

Perhaps I can make up both - the flat one and one with fins. I quite like the fins idea and I think if I can get what I have in my head down as a design then it'll look quite nice.

I think with fins it'll have to do without the lip at the bottom though. I really need to get some CAD / 3D Modelling software and start trying to get my thoughts down properly...

On the subject of fins: To get a bit of an idea of what I can probably do for the stock bumper - check out the Arkym M-Sport diffuser:

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=471361

Last pic on the original post - if I come out from the bumper a bit around the edge of the diffuser that'll give enough room to come inwards and leave space for the fins...

What do you think?

I don't like that little 'shelf' at the top of the fins. Looks like a great place for dirt to collect. Leave it off and just let the fins go in at the top without that shelf bit.

I liek this diffuser looks great. I would deffinantly like something agressive on the bumper. Perhaps make one like this with the fins and then one without the fins for the more conservative.

So if I keep the main section flat (following the lines of the bumper) and make the fin profile look something like this:

How would that go down?

Yup - just need to decide on which to make first. If I make the conservative one first and then modify it might be easier from a development perspective - but then it puts you out again as it's not quite what you want.

I'm probably going through to the moulder tomorrow for the second round of fitting for the M-Sport / M-Tech diffuser - I'll chat to him a bit about the design and we can see what we can get going - perhaps I can do both at the same time...

Or just make it with the fins and if someone wanted it without the fins just shave them off . Unless of course they want carbon.
