Just had a call from BMW UK Customer Service - apparently the emails from Jim O'Donnell have everyone in a big fluster. Also, apparently the email from Germany has made things even more of a priority....

Oh in the middle of typing, had another call, asking if I would mind going to Harold Wood on Wednesday to meet the UK Technical Manager and show him exactly what's wrong with the car... never had so many communications from BMW in a single day!!

Oh incidentally....

Phone Rings...brrrrring brrrrrring

Me: Hello?

BMW (in a bright & breezy voice): Oh hello Mr *** it's Simon from BMW. How are you today?

Me: Well that's a bloody stupid question isn't it?

BMW: Ah.... Yes...

That's the funny thing James - you've now seen two sides of me! Although, you haven't seen the side of me when I have to sack people...

E92................start of a good result methinks
re going to the top, i have had things hidden from me in the past and thats ok if the problem is resolved...................but i have once or twice had a customer get straight thru to me with a problem and that same day is spent getting it sorted

(obviously not on the scale we're talking about her )

I've just worked out that it's approximately 95 days so far I've been without my car since I bought it... and I've had it 233 days.

So... that's 41% of the time I've had it, it's been in the dealership

Fuck that id be suicidal, you should have bought an E46 M3 interim car bought at a good price and sold when yours was sorted for a small profit!!!

i cant believe the MASSIVE price difference with E46 M3's on sale

from as little as 12k, thru to 35k

obviously, the cheap ones are 80k miles + and 01/02 cars and the 35k are newer

Tony - some great emailing going on, nice one.

Fingers crossed for a positive outcome. Like it is always said, shit rolls down hill, & no boss wants hassle when there are others beneath him supposedly employed to take the shit (as it were)

Dear Mr ***

Thank you for your note and for bringing this sad tale to my notice. I am on my way to the airport and will ask my PA to make sure we fix your problem.
In the interim thank you for your patience.

Yours sincerely

Jim O'Donnell
Glad you got a quick reply back from the MD, Tony.

He WILL make sure your problem is sorted out. The email to BMW Germany will only speed this up even more!

All the best.

Arrrgh.. no time to post a full report yet... will do tonight.

Although here's a teaser.. have picked up the car, and it's PERFECT!!
Buuuuttt... well, they did kerb a wheel for me, and scratch the side of the car, but that's all sorted.. long story

Oh, and of course BMW tried to blame the whole 'not driving in a straight line' on the fact that I have normal tyres and not RFT.. so I asked them this following question... and I quote more or less exactly:

"So, you're telling me that my car is veering off to the left because I don't have run flat tyres on it?!"

"yes, Mr *** those Pirelli tyres are not compatible with your car..."

"What's the difference? Are you saying that the Pirelli's aren't proper tyres? Are they a different shape or something? Are they square or triangular? I tell you what, why don't you write down on paper, right now, that the Pirellis are incompatible with the car and that these Pirellis cause the car to veer to the left. Write that down, I'll send your letter off to Pirelli and let's see who takes who to court first, for stupidity. I think it will be a close call - although I'll make sure your stupidity is broadcast nationwide on the forums. Don't be an idiot and try to weasle your way out of admitting the car is fundamentally wrong. You think I'm that stupid and you can bullshit your way through??"

"Uh.. well.."

"Don't bother or you'll end up looking like even more of a plonker"

Glad it is to your satisfaction.

What exactly did they do to make it track true ?
