HELP!! Any of you ever get this sign before??

Hey guys,

First off, im sorry if im posting in the wrong section (im pretty sure i am, but i like to believe that this ny/nj and all the rest section is smarter than the others)

So as my buddy hops in his car and turns it on, this sign comes up!!

(Sorry for the crappy cell phone pic)

Have any of you got this before? Do you know what it means? I dont have iDrive so it wont say what it is...

Oh and heres another thing, the cars got a little over 69K miles on it (2006 325i)

If anybody knows anything id appreciate it...thanks in advance

P.S - Im obviously out of warranty so if you could recommend what to do and where to go id really appreciate it, thanks again!

hey guys, its actually my car that had the sign pop up on. The brake light also came on along with that picture. When i was driving home on the highway last night the car wouldnt really go over 2000 RPM's and over 60mph. Is that normal when you get that sign and error for the service ?

no bring it in for service, sounds like a bad sparkplug or cylinder misfire.

is it an automatic transmission? i had a similar problem with my older car which was an automatic, which resulted from lack of transmission fluid which caused a gear to burn. So I had a slipping tranny. sucked ass. they told me i had to rebuild it, or get a new one. i just sold it for dirty cheap.

it probably means that one of your brake pads is getting low or you need to repair your brake pad wear sensor. when you scroll through and choose check control, hold the BC button for about 10-15 seconds. if cc-id 71 comes on it's one of your brake pad sensors.. you might need new brakes...
