So.. I am starting to go back and forth between 7 vs 5.
What would the expected differences between the 7 and 5 be on a car with just standard bolt ons (jb4, intake, DPs, Charge pipe... No meth)? I am sorry if this has been answered before. I did a search. |

The 7" is going to have a little more pressure drop across the core but the larger core will allow for more flow/better cooling in the mid-upper rpm range.
I run the 7" core on the shop car with full bolt ons simply because the car makes more power in the upper rpm range with the larger core. I'll take cooler IAT's over marginal pressure drop any day. |

Does anyone know what the dimensions of the core are?
I'm most interested in the length of the core only, not including the end tanks. Thanks

In order to get pics of inside the core I have to get a picture of the core before production. Unfortunately that can only be done with the next batch of cores. Due to the way the end tanks are designed, I can't take a straight shot of the inside of the core with end tanks on it
I'll be sure to get pics as soon as we place another order (should be in the next week or so. I'll post a better picture when I get a chance. Last edited by Tiago@VRSF; 08-27-2012 at 05:03 PM.. |

Exciting thread to watch. Especially based on the intro price.
I am hoping we see some more logging and feedback from some of the latest customers. I am still back and forth on getting the 7 or waiting for the 5. |

I find it humorous that people defend these intercoolers like they are their own.
You will get what you pay for here. No disrespect to Tiago. He's offer a budget solution for intercoolers, and you will get a budget intercooler quality control and finish. You simply can't get the quality, quality control, fit finish and materials of high end intercoolers and core and expect to pay under $500. If that is what you are seeking after, thats cool and here is your option. It's funny when ignorant people say that other intercoolers have a BMW Tax, when in fact they do not at all. It costs more to make intercoolers in the USA, and even more to use high end cores. Don't believe me though, use google, there are plenty of 3rd party sources and information to make your own judgments and actually understand the cost of materials. |

While I definitely agree with some of your statements, you'd be amazed at how many sources/vendors actually get their products from the same sources we use while charging twice as much. You'd actually be even more amazed at what their intercoolers cost them to make. Our intercoolers are fabricated by hand using a jig and each one of them is pressure tested to 40psi. We personally inspect each one before boxing/packaging. We've sold several hundred intercoolers utilizing this same fin pack and have quite a few cars pushing over 700whp & running 9 second quarter miles. I really don't mean to come off as arrogant but I think it's safe to say we know what it takes to make a quality intercooler. |
