Theres always a chance for codes when messing with stuff. But map 3 shouldnt throw any. Probably nothing is gonna happen since your in for a service and not warranty.

If there is nothing wrong with your car and its just the service overdue, just reset it yourself with this DIY...here is the link

I am not sure if OP knows how to uninstall it and reinstall it....If he doesn't i would just take it to any mechanics shop and pay to change oil..

This is where a BT cable comes in very handy Anybody who mods a car and is worried about warranty should have one for peace of mind. If you are not willing to take your car for an oil change because of the tune, then you really need to either have a BT cable or know how to remove/install the tune as you are really handicapping yourself here.

I would and have gone in with all my mods for oil services, but thats me. Heck I even left my DPs on when I had my turbos replaced for wastegate rattle. [You mileage may vary]

You should be able to change the oil yourself. Its about the easiest thing you can do since the filter is on top of the engine bay. Just buy approved oil and follow a diy on the forums. It will cost a few bucks, but save the hassle of removing the tune and codes.

Can Mike or somebody confirm whether you have to lock the doors and unplug the battery? Im pretty sure that locks dont matter with the battery unplugged.

Lock doors and wait for ECU to fall asleep (15min) or if you are unplugging the batter the doors don't matter. I would leave them unlocked incase you close the trunk by accident and then you lock yourself out of the car

Thats what I thought. With a door lock delete, and the newer models not having the keyhole in the trunk, your junk would be locked out! lol, how would you get in?

my dealer told me on the phone that if they specifically didnt change the oil. they could possibly deny any claims that i had in the future with my existing warranty. so i took my jb3 off (ran map 7 once and normally map 3) and took it in. the guy said they dont scan for any codes when servicing if nothing is wrong with your car. luckily i have a "guy" that is cool about stuff at the dealer

Thats false. They cannot deny a claim for you doing your own maintenance as long as you do it at the set times and properly.

Don't forget the glove compartment.

EDIT: By the way, from what I understand that reset tutorial is to reset the service reminder only. Not to reset your thrown codes the tune may cause.
