yea they offered me what they did for my car without even seeing it, so im gonna bring it in and then low ball the shit out of them, they've been sitting on the M3 for 4 - 5 months, and they can deny it all they want, my car will go quick, we'll see, im thinking FBO and tune and see how i like that and maybe shoot for an M3 next year.

You want insight?? Do it. 15k is nothing plus the next M3 is a couple years down the road so the auto stays fresh and the current is V8!! No turbo. By the way i have seen the interlagos and it is a fantastic color. Good luck with the choice but you know what to do.

well thats what got me thinking in the first place, I never buy new, so i figure I have a good amount of time before I get in the position to go for the F30 M3, Interlagos is ridiculously sexy, and to call the interior gray is just not right, the color looks so good. It is very tempting, and I always thought that M motors were rock solid, but they keep telling me they are selling me the M3 at cost, but they are low balling me on my car, Im gonna tell them to narrow their margin when they go to sell my car, simply to get that M off their lot before they go into the red with it, and then walk away, I dont need the car, this is just a huge want.

There's a whole lotta people in here telling you to do it...and they are all driving 335's. Easy to spend other people's money. Just sayin.

its all about the dough....i personally wouldnt do that. extra $15k to pay and NO warranty. if you considering a used M3 w/54k miles and no CPO, then my guess is that you dont have money to through around to begin with. so keep 15k and enjoy 335i

As far as maintenance costs, consider that the additional 2 yrs costs $2095 on new 335i's, $3295 on the M3, so figure about an extra $600/yr for the M3.
If you can afford it, the M3 is a much more refined, high performance car. IMO there's nothing you can do to the 335 to recreate the feel of a high-revving V8, the steering, better transmission, suspension, etc. Yes, you can make the 335 faster, but to me the M3 is in a different league. I had a 335 for 3 yrs prior to getting our M3 in November.

OP:
If you do it, sell your car on your own and instead of 15K diff, your looking at about 11k to 12k.

yea but then you pay full tax on the other car, the difference is almost not worth the extra effort it takes to sell a car on its own.

thats the reason why i traded a4 for 335i. with tax, the difference was going to be 500-1000 max.

Your lucky then. In Ca, there is no tax advantage when you trade in a car. The Ca tax man collects on the full purchase price of the car being bought.

why dont you take some of that 15k, and if you want the power of an m3 get a better tune, u want the looks for an m3, lower your car, buy an m3 body kit, get rims, it will be cheaper then spending 15K more and you will beat m3's all day. dont get me wrong, an m3 is a fucke* beast and the last naturally aspirated engine BMW will make. if you got the money go for it.
