Just arrived at my hotel in Salinas, and will be driving on Laguna Seca tomorrow.
The pump got me here so it should be fine when I'm on the track tomorrow. BTW, to answer the questions about my numerous pumps, The first one was actually running fine but I went in for service and they said that it should be replaced since it will probably fail soon. Once I got the second pump, that started with the long starts.

Well got my car back this evening. It was only authorized for the software update, no pump and no injectors.
For reference I have a 2008 (9/2007 build) and it has never had anything replaced on the car. Crazy I didn't even get the HPFP but I am keeping my fingers crossed that I just have some sort of phantom car that isn't going to run into this issue. |

So are they replacing HPFP no matter what or updating software first to see if that cures the problem?

Can anyone post up the recall letter? Does it say injectors will be replaced too? Would appreciate some clarification on how injectors are involved...

Canada
There have been members asking if this letter has been sent out to Canada. I just received this letter in Canada, so I can confirm it is valid for Canada. Sucks because I just had this HPFP and my LPFP replaced in the summer for the 6th time, hopefully they fix this issue eventually.
I called the dealer and they said that injectors will be scanned to see if they are listed as the "bad" parts as well. Car is an o7 335i coupe if it matters. Hopefully this is lucky #7 all of this on a car that has the equialent of 25 000 miles Does anyone here know what happens to the Dinan flash (cost wise) if you aren't able to go to a Dinan dealer and have to have the car reflashed due to this recall? Am I out the cost of the flash labor or will the other dealer (Dinan dealer) be able to reflash the car and charge BMW for it? |
