Clearly I was being naive making a suggestion . The car is a very desirable spec (my opinion of course), with this in mind I've suggested that it was a good buy. Clearly I should have worded my original post with much more caution.

Gizze the D3 Biturbo Coupe is a great car, and well worth Skyper considering, if he wants to.

Skyper I just wanted to check that you are getting bluetooth with yours . If you need any assistance please PM me, maybe I can even quote you happy?

For those that can't justify the extra cost of a 330d, I can honestly say the 325d is a great option, giving the refinement of the 6 cylinders, the economy of a 4 cylinder diesel compared with the competitors, and is a lovely drive

For me it's a worse spec 325d over a 320d any day of the week...

I think as a private buyer, it can make sense a 325d, its that niggling doubt for an extra £2-3k, you could have got a 330d, with almost identical economy/CO2 figures, but with much better performance.

But that is IMHO.

One thing about prices, new cars now cost a fortune!

We were looking at replacing the 730d with a new 5 series, by the time you have added essentials, like nav, bluetooth, auto 'box etc. you are looking at £39,000 for an SE touring and if you want the 530d you can add £9000 to that price!
Plus you start to think, if I am spending £48,000 I had better add things like HUD, DAB, Harmon Kardon Hi-Fi, Sunroof, Privacy Glass, and before you know it you are at £53000, so you then think for an extra £2000 I better have the 535d, and then you add M-Sport and you have a £57,000 5 series estate.

My neighbour just bought a new 2.0 Vauxhall Sigma estate, lots of options and a very nice car I am sure, but that was £38,000, yep, £38,000!!
He paid £33,000 for it.

We ended up buying a 6 month old 520d se touring with all the toys for around £31500 and after looking at the 530d and then seeing what a new Vauxhall equivilent costs it actaully did seem like quite a bargain.

Pro nav is a free offer atm on 3 series? Plus you should be able to push 10% off with Broadspeed, etc on a NEW car.

Who would pay retail from a dealer?!?! Things are tight dealers; get in the plan if you want the business...

What is the spec of the 520d. any pics.

Youre right about the prices of new cars its getting crazy, i looked at the 535d msport with bit n bobs and was well over £50k.
When they increased the VAT they just rounded the price of the options up the way... plus the usual january price increase.. so the price of the basic car was up 5% before adding options.

Mineral white is a lovely colour! I find the white kind of changes shade with different lighting levels.

The spec Anneka mentioned is pretty much what I have got in mine, I went for most of the option...just left out the lazy ones like auto headlight+rain sensor. The nav is a must if you ask me!

Nice colour im sure that is the same colour as the one i seen in the showroom.

IMO the options are getting to dear, like the bigger alloys and vis pack if the had added £100-150 on top of the price they were on the E60 fair enough but they arent far from doubling in price.
