Quick 2012 335IS Question

Looking at a set of winters on Tire Rack.. just need to know if the TPM sensors that are sold extra are needed and if so, are they compatible with my vehicle's system?

Thanks!

TPMS are not needed. But they are definitely recommended. Tirerack sells Beru TPMS which are the supplier to BMW so you should have no issues.

Is the only side effect of not purchasing them that the car will constantly warn you that the sensor is missing/tire issues?

Correct, a chime will ring when you first start the car and a dash light will stay illuminated. Some local shops may not be willing to do an install without them due to liability issues. We sell the correct compatible sensors for E90's for about $50 each currently, and the web site will give you the option to add them to any wheel order before final checkout.
