Brake pads and rotors

Hey guys I need a new set of pads and rotors in the front. I was thinking about going with the r1 concept rotors and Hawks HPS pads. Anyone have any experience with the Hawk HPS? Am looking for something that would give me more bite and maybe similar or more stopping power compared to the OEM. I was also looking into getting the EBC redstuff but I have no experience with them.
Thanks.

Had Hawk HPS on my E46 and loved them. Nice bite, good stopping power, VERY low dust (especially compared to OEM). The ATE performance one rotors also worked well, but pulsed just a bit under light braking due to the eccentric grooves.

hawks are known to be loud and squeaky, mine were very loud on my e46 m3, ended up swapping them out for axxis and loved it

I have had Hawk HPS on multiple vehicles including my dad's Van and my NSX. Didn't like them. Better stopping power overall but initial bite and feel is not great. Old OEM brake pads from my dad's Honda Odyssey (more than 60k+miles) had better bite than the brand spanking new HPS...not impressed at all. However, when you do step on it, it does brake better and harder than OEM alternatives. Also, If you brake agressively, the HPS begins to show better brake characteristics as well. If you are a city driver that don't abuse your brakes, you are actually not getting the most out of the HPS. All I can say is that the HPS is a very Linear pad. If you're used to how our bmw's oem pad behaves and bites, you will HATE the hps.

Tried EBC Red Stuff before, can't say much about them besides they work like OEM. Again, less initial bite, but not as noticable than the HPS. Better braking performance overall, tad bit better feel than the HPS. Never tried Yellow Stuff.

Check out Cool Carbon Pads, lots of good review on here. Good Luck!

I am also thinking about going with the R1 Concepts drilled and slotted rotors. Would love to hear some more feedback on those rotors, as well as the Geomet coated rotors from ECS tuning.

Was thinking about pairing the rotors with Cool Carbon pads because of all the great reviews.

+1 for more info / feedback

Cool Carbon is one of the best street performance pads available, always our first recommendation and what we run on our own cars, hardly a rip off but actually great performance and great value. We have many very happy customers.

Please PM for further information
